I like the way the marble has a yellow stain going all the way around at waste level. Does that thing ever get cleaned?

Why clean it? No one's eating off it. It's for pissing on. The thing has been there since 1954 and you may be the first to be worried about some staining.Skjellyfetti wrote:I like the way the marble has a yellow stain going all the way around at waste level. Does that thing ever get cleaned?
This ain't the damn Citadel. No one is forced to go at it with a toothbrush or anything.

Oh, it's been done! Several years ago a few co-eds rushed our beloved 'oasis' after the game and relieved themselves. Man, that sure brings back memories; just like the famous streaker. She's just jealous because she wouldn't be able to use it.

The thing is, it snows 7 months out of the year in Boone, so our females bundle up is several layers of clothing.g-webb1994 wrote:And from experience, I wouldn't throw off on women from the Appalachian mountains so quickly....there are some fine fine specimens of the female form in Boone, but I'll let the Appy fans provide the proof.

I'm guessing Maryland has quite a few commuter students, no? That probably contributes to the blandness of the campus. I've only ever been to College Park once (early 90s) and I recall it being pretty damned boring as well.

I would like to propose an annual DSU-UD game called the "Brawl for the Wall" wherein the losing coach has to scrub the wall in a live webcast. That way, both teams fans should be happy with the outcome, win or lose. Maybe they could even get some corporate sponsorship, such as The Scrubbing Bubbles Brawl for the Wall or Mr Clean or something.

Best: Princeton

In many ways, Princeton is the ideal college town. A throwback, if you will, to another era. Walk the streets of the Ivy League community and revel in the town’s indelible quaintness and rich heritage.

Known mainly for its world-class university, Princeton is a charming, relaxing town filled with historic stone buildings and tree-lined streets.
Don't miss a stroll along the main drag, Nassau Street, where you'll find bookstores and boutiques, as well as Bainbridge House, home to the Historical Society of Princeton; take a quick tour of its museum for some background on the town's history. Then head over to nearby Princeton University with its famous bronze tigers at the entrance to Nassau Hall.
Wander among the ivy-covered stone Gothic buildings and towering shade trees en route to the on-campus art museum. Other Princeton sights include the mansions along Library Place and the Delaware-Raritan Canal, a great place to bike, paddle or jog. For a quick bite, don't miss local institutions like PJ's Pancake House, Thomas Sweet (for ice cream) or Hoagie Haven.

Charming but expensive, [Princeton] is known for its tree-lined streets and upscale shops. Not surprisingly, Princeton supports its public library and preserves its historic sites. Unemployment is low and per-capita income is high.

The compact town of Princeton carries a historical heritage that brings back the time of American Revolution. However, the lasting fame of the town was benefited from the War of Independence. The incredible structure of Ivy League Institution is the focal point of the town. It is adjacent to the attractive Palmer Square Green and the dazzling downtown that is prospered with upscale businesses, restaurants, and shops. With these spots in town, college students would definitely get a dose of energy. Aside from college students, the town also attracts many folks from the nearby cities because of its location, abundant charm, picturesque quality, and quiet environment.

The town (population 13,000) is picture-perfect with the ivied campus of Princeton University (established in 1756) as the centerpiece to an exquisite downtown. The graceful streets feature first class shopping and restaurants. The cultural opportunities in Princeton are superb because of the university and its proximity to NY and Philadelphia. CNN/Money rated Princeton 15th on its list the 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S.
And the list goes on and on.

Re: Best and worse FCS college towns?
Greeley is just like any college town in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, or Nebraska only it's in Colorado. They have cattle, pigs, and sheep in feed lots there just like Iowa, but it is drier in Colorado so it couldn't possibly stink as bad as Iowa does.
Then there's the cultural differences between the Iowa and Colorado.
Easy to see life as a college student at even stinky UNC would be far superior to anywhere in Iowa.
Now Chadley, have you been to that barn they play football in over in Pocatello??
Throw in some fresh cow poop and you would feel right at home.

Regarding Maryland---When we played there I was impressed at how well they managed a large traffic flow to and from on-campus parking for the game. Much better than C-ville in that regard.
