I'd be careful about talking about taking things like little girls. GAsou hasn't got much to talk about in this decade. especially when it comes to football. Aren't you guys getting surpassed by that little ole "commuter" school downtown that hasn't played a down of football yet? just my :twocents:

Valid point you make. I don't think any of the remaining schools were founded by an individual that wanted to legislate morality, politicized the pulpit, railed against blacks and integration, or called a kids' show character gay, so it's really tough to dislike anyone that's left.

I mean, if Monte the Grizzly Bear went on FoxNews tomorrow and said that the United States "probably deserved" the 9/11 attacks, I'd throw every vote against Montana. :twocents:
And so because its founder decided to put his foot in his mouth a few times you decide to paint the entire fan base of said school with the same brush? come on man i know the hen's are smarter than that.

Ha, says someone who knows something about a man except several quotes he said, many of which out of context. Its only blind if you dont evaluate both sides of a story before making a conclusion.

To hen fan's posts:

You choose to look at the negatives in his life and I understand that. And just because you choose to go to a school does not automatically make you a blind follower. I happened to disagree with a lot of things he said. That didn't stop me from going to that school or enjoying my time there. you should take a visit down there at some point. maybe if we see you guys in the playoffs. I think it will change your perspective on the school. but whatever. if you want to keep that view your as narrow minded as the man (who is deceased) you are disrespecting. like i said. I thought you hen fans would be better than that.

As for the GA state thing. I give you Exhibit A:

Even southern fans are noticing they are in trouble.

I'm curious here as well. If anyone claims Falwell wasn't a horrible human then they are wearing blinders.

You both obviously only heard what the media gave you. AKA when he decided to put his foot in his mouth. No blinders here. you didn't hear about who he was around campus or what he did for people. like going into a restaurant and giving the waitress a full ride because she couldn't afford one or when he'd pick kids up who were walking across campus in his SUV before the school had busses and drove them to class and how he remembered everyone's name. I could go on. the man may have had some weird views and the ability to really put his foot in his mouth but that doesn't mean he was a horrible person. just because someone says or does something that you disagree with you does not make them a horrible human. but you guys chose to focus on the negatives because you never got to see the positives.

I dislike our president and disagree with just about everything that comes out of the man's mouth. but that doesn't mean I'm going to rejoice if he dies. It doesn't mean i'm going to go on a message board and hide behind a screen name and post horrible pictures of tinky winky desecrating on his grave. but i guess thats just me. its a thing called tact and some people on here don't have it. but i'm sure i'm in the minority of people who think some of the stuff (even in jest) that has been posted is just blatantly wrong. you completely negate your argument about how horrible the man is by doing something as horrible as the things you claim he did. grow up.

My mother always told me that no matter how much you dislike a person, when you meet them face to face you will find characteristics about them that you like. Jerry Falwell was a perfect example of that. I hated everything he stood for, but after meeting him in person, years after the trial, Jerry Falwell and I became good friends. He would visit me in California and we would debate together on college campuses. I always appreciated his sincerity even though I knew what he was selling and he knew what I was selling.
- The REAL Larry Flynt, the day Falwell Died.

Im not saying he didnt say some of those things. I wont deny that to many, that makes him considered a Bigot. I do deny that he hated everyone who disagreed with him, though, because that is simply not true. But back to football, at least in the football thread

Surprisingly enough there is a lot to do in Lynchburg especially if you are a history buff. and the amenities on campus such as the ski slopes/indoor soccer and hockey rink are some of the most unique in the southeast. but I get where you are coming from. if you like the big city you won't like living in the Burg.

I agree, it seems like right around Liberty there is some stuff to do. My friend and I drove up to your campus to watch ODU play you guys in basketball this past year (73-41 ODU win. :thumb: ) and it seemed like we almost literally drove through the middle of nowhere to get to Lynchburg. However, I will say your amentities on campus seem pretty nice...we walked into your Student Recreation Center or Student Union or whatever and it did look pretty nice from what I remember.

Horrible human, no way.

I knew him. He was a good man. He treated people with decency and respect. He also admitted he had made mistakes. Show me a man that has not.

Well thats funny. about 15 of my friends and I drove up to ODU for our game in that awesome arena of yours. of course I have family in the area around HR so I've always known how nice it is up there. and we didn't get hassled too bad when we went out to eat at SOBO after the game. I did however have Ice cream and cake stuck in my head for the next week.
