Man, son, I played the game at the college level and I coached it. I've forgotten more 'n you'll ever know. The difference 'tween me and you is that the sh*t you dabble in is sh*t I moved on from 20 years ago.
Bow down to me, Floppy McFlopperson.

What is with all this hostility today? Are people just that full of energy for this weekend that they don't know how to handle it?
Cap'n of all people, you should know how to "handle" it.

Holly,
I'm just playing with the T-Bird. I don't want to discourage him from coming here. He's a good young poster.

Re: #4 Montana vs #1 James Madison
Let's talk defense. Montana enjoys a +14 turnover margin this year. But are ya'll aware that in the past 6 games, the Griz have forced 23 turnovers, while only giving up the ball 5 times themselves?
And the Griz have put the ball on the ground 18 times, but 9 of those came in that two week lull in late September/early October. In no other game have they had more than 2, and in 7 games they've had ZERO, including 4 of the last 7.
JMU, conversely, has been an excellent steward of the ball all year (with the exception of the Duke game), with only 12 turnovers and a +10 margin, including a four game stretch with ZERO turnovers. They have only 4 turnovers in their last 7 games. However, their opportunistic defense, which caused 14 turnovers in the first six games has only taken the ball away 8 times in the last 7 games. In that 7 games stretch, they DO still enjoy a +3 margin.
Bottom line is this: Griz force a LOT of turnovers---particularly of late. JMU doesn't turn the ball over much--particularly of late. What happens when an irresistable force (Griz D) meets an immovable object (JMU's O)?
I'm a firm believer in whoever ends up winning the turnover battle wins the war. 52 hours and counting until we begin to find out the answer.

yeah Tbird ain't going nowhere due to some rough give and take. He's got some piss and vinegar. If I remember correctly before the season he picked some predictions for SUU that was getting a lot of flack for picking and one of the games was their win over Texas State and stood his ground and he turned out to be right. I'm just too busy to do the footwork right now to see if that's what it actually was.

irresistible force? Ok, but at least spell it correctly if you're gonna use your own take off on the saying. I wouldn't normally correct you spelling AZ but you're such a grammarian that I had to take a shot back at you. Good analysis as to the turnovers and who's been doing what in the last few games though.AZGrizFan wrote:Let's talk defense. Montana enjoys a +14 turnover margin this year. A keyboard is what, 5 bucks? Are you saying you can't go to the store room and grab another one and plug it in? Or better yet, grab one from an associate and replace his/hers with yours.AZGrizFan wrote:My computer got all spammy, and now my keyboard is takin' a shit. Give a brutha a break, dammit.Ursus A. Just gettin' you back for the "whatever" comment I got about 6 months ago for a misfire on the keyboard. Re: #4 Montana vs #1 James Madison
Well I have been learning about JMU for the past couple of days and I see a couple of places that the Griz could end up getting a TO or two. When the JMU qb runs, sometimes he doesn't take care of the ball as well as he could, leaving an opportunity to be knocked out of his grasp. The JMU qb seems to be effective when delivering the ball to his receivers, which could be good and bad. He could be just that good and make all the right passes and thread the ball into tight coverage and make it a long long day for Montana, OR, he could be so confident in his ability to put the ball where he wants it that the Griz could get a pick or two out of him throwing the ball into spots where he shouldn't be thowing it.AZGrizFan wrote:Let's talk defense.
