The trial of Allen Iverson episode was very interesting last night. I never knew how bad he was railroaded on such poor evidence, and for a 17 year old to get 15 years and no bond for a "maiming by mob" charge (a charge ironically created by VA to combat lynchings against blacks) with no slam-dunk evidence is flabbergasting. The episode even presented a conspiracy angle involving Hampton U, since many in the case had ties to HU. The thinking was that if they could get a sentence whereby Iverson wasn't allowed to leave the Hampton area, he'd be forced to play for HU. Crazy stuff.

Next week is the episode about the guys who created rotisserie baseball and how it spawned all the fantasy games we love today.

Looking at the list in T-Dog's link, I've seen all but the one on Loyola Marymount. Anyone catch it? How was it?

I caught it and thought it was really well done. I really didn't know a whole lot about the Gathers incident or Westhead going into it, so it was not only a good watch, but a pretty moving one too.

Yeah, Iverson ended up creating some of his own problems, but the guy was just flat out railroaded in that case and thankfully it got corrected.

I saw that one a few months ago too - amazing, even decades later, many of those Miami guys still come across as classless thugs. They didn't see anything amiss with what they did back then, and they still don't see anything amiss about it now. You would've thought age and life wisdom would make them at least blush at some of the stuff they did, but nary a note of contrition in the whole piece. No wonder they were so easy to root against.

I agree, 30 for 30 continues to be pretty solid. They just announced the full fall schedule the other day and I'm pretty excited for some of them they have upcoming, particularly the Little League World Series one.
