While it having it moved to Thursday will make it more likely to be shown on TV. The reason it was moved to Thursday is because Alabama wanted a full week to prepare for Auburn (who has a Bye week that weekend) the following weekend.

also heard they cancelled classes that day as well at Alabama...makes sense, if there stadium is on campus thats a lot of people coming on campus at the same time. 100,000+ I assume including any people who just tailgate and dont have tickets to the actual game plus people who have classes then as well.

I know at ODU alone its somewhat hectic cant even imagine what its like at an SEC school.

They can't have stinkin classes going on at the same time of college football. It's downright un-American.

I remember how hard it was to learn about Tinker v Des Moines School District on Halloween 2008 when there were people shotgunning beers in the parking lot outside the building. :lol:

We actually have 4 road games: Campbell, South Alabama, Old Dominion, and Alabama
Yes, the Alabama game will be tough (extremely understated), but there are numerous articles detailing the hows and whys of this match-up. Here's a new one but there are others that go in to details : " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

FWIW, Jacksonville State is #22 in Phil Steele's preseason rankings....

I will also add that it wouldnt surprise me if ODU were getting votes in the preseason poll.

And since they agreed to move the date, the scoring will be capped at 59 max.

I am hoping for 9-2 but not expecting anything worse than 7-4.

I give us a 50-50 shot against JSU at Home and we SHOULD beat South Alabama soundly.

I'm not bashing but, I can't imagine GaSt. is going to beat USA soundly. South Alabama did have a team last year and have that year together as team. I know they played mostly JC's but they did play together and that should help them against a first year school

Did you see their schedule last year? I dont think they can match us in the trenches. Our OL and DL are far larger and more experienced. So I think we should win this game especially considering that game #9 of the season. But, that's why they play the games.

My only point with GaSt is that it is all unknown. You can't say much about how they will match up because GaSt has not played a game yet. Being GaSt's 9th game may do away with some of the experience advantage USA could have gained.

Wow, someone is delusional. I give GaSt of 50-50 chance of scoring. :nod:

Since our OL will be comprised of sophomores and juniors with college experience and average 307 lbs per man, lets just say I am not worrying about scoring. I like our chances. But JSU presents our first real test of the season.
