and that is the reason AE may have a real shot to make the Panther's roster or at least the practice squad.

Teams/coaches ALWAYS give much more rope to a draft pick as opposed to a free agent during camp.. I'm sure that Carolina will give Edwards every chance to prove that they were smart in drafting him. If he doesn't make it.. it won't be because he wasn't given a fair opportunity.

No doubt, not to mention they drafted him knowing that he would change positions and be a project because of that.

I saw AE listed at 187 at one point, so that's what I'm remembering. He's got Smith by an inch or two, and he gives away 3 lbs using your numbers. For someone earlier to argue that he's too skinny to make a difference is pretty stupid IMO.

OK you guys, here is what I really feel as I was just having some fun with the "revelance" comment. I want every FCS player to do well. I hope AE picks up the system and becomes an NFL star in a few years. I want the same for him as I do for Mariani. I really enjoyed being in the stands last December when AE almost single handedly beat the Griz in Wash/Griz. That being said good luck to AE, Mariani, and all the other FCS players that are in an NFL camp.

AE may be "struggling" but he was drafted way too high not to make the team unless he just does nothing. The kid will do just fine.

Looks like AE is starting get adjusted. He'll be just fine...

"-- Slowly, rookie WR Armanti Edwards seems to be shaking some of his camp jitters. He had some rough practices early, but has the kind of football speed that doesn't always show up when they're in shorts.

After a sharp break on an underneath route, Edwards caught a pass from QB Hunter Cantwell and took off. He outran FS Charles Godfrey to the sideline."

Cool deal, perhaps you'll be right. I certainly don't know how he'll do, but I'll be rooting for him for sure.

I don't think that would be a bad rookie season for him at all.

Most rookie WR's usually don't have a ton of production... especially those taken outside of the first round. The stats you made up would put him well above most of the 2009 rookie class's stats. Hell, his rushing stats you have him down for would be better than Percy Harvin's from last year (15 attempts, 135 yards, 0 TD's).

AE is struggling because during the first day of camp, he happened to walk by the groundskeepers shed while the door was open, where he saw the lawnmowers, and they totally messed up his psyche.
