Win at home vs UNI, SIU, SDSU, the swagga will be back in the fargodome this year, believe it, lots of young freshman talent hitting the field.
Back to the 2006-2007 era, where we were cheated out of playoffs, time to get back to winning ways.
Will be hard for you to beat UNI at home.
Bison home game...remember....
They chanted that before getting blown out in the first half and then having UNI play second stringers and running the ball between the tackles the entire second half.

And you consider yourself a blogger?? Holy crap, get some sense.
We beat YSU AND NDSU last year, ON THE ROAD, and we are bigger, stronger, faster, and more experienced this year. 6-5 my ass. 6-5 would be a dissapointment.
I don't care who you beat last year. This is 2010. YSU should be much improved(won't be hard) and NDSU fell apart last year.
6-5 might be a dissapointment, but MSU football has been a dissapointment under Terry Allen. We hear this same speak from Bear fans every year and it's nothing new.
I'm a blogger because I take the time to do it. Feel free to do your own breakdown. Hopefully you're as willing to admit your wrong if the Bears fall flat again.
Been a disappointment by who's standards? UNI's? SIU's? Who's?
Like 42 said, we have improved in conference every year. We were in no position to turn it around in one year and have done the rebuilding the right way with freshmen instead of taking all sorts of transfers. I'll be the first to admit that it will be hard to get to 5 MVFC wins this year but not out of the question. I am sure 1-9 all teams have improved, but to say that some have improved so much more than MSU and haven't ever shown it, that is a bit of stretch. ISU hasn't been good since who knows when. WIU and NSDU are on the decline. YSU has been down for a few years now. All four of those should be wins along with EKU and Murray State. That is six wins
I haven't saw you do anything but bitch about this. Post your predictions, and let's see what kind of reaction you get.
I've done a complete game by game prediction for every team this season and I got ripped apart for it. However, no one else is willing to do the same.
Even though I don't give two cents about how UNI, SIU, YSU, etc finish I'll give it a shot.
If you want MSU to do well, you better care how UNI, SIU, SDSU, YSU, etc.. .finish.
I know you haven't a lot of success at MSU so you don't understand how every game in the league effects the race for the title, but trust me...you should care how those teams do

If we had expectations to win the title I would agree. But we don't. We are just looking for the next step forward. For me, that is 7 wins.
I meant it as more of I am a fan of MSU and am here to defend them. I really don't care to think about if UNI goes 8-3 or 7-4 or what ever...

This. I didn't know where to pick wins for them. I admit that they may do better, but will be sub-500.
Care to stand behind your predictions?
Of course I satdn behind my predcitions. Should I change it because the MSU faithful disagree? Like I said, MSU has continually fell short of their own predicitions, and I don't see this year being any different.
That being said, if you are wanting me to make some sort of bet, I would be an idiot to bet money on something that can change so easily.

Again, when has MSU ever fallen short of their own predictions? Every year we(99% of the fan base) has hoped for an improvement by a game or two each year. And so far that has happen either out of conference, in conference, or both. Considering where our football program has been the past 20 years, I don't consider that outrageous or unfair. Baby steps is what we have asked for, baby steps is all the we deserve, and baby steps is what we have seen. So please, point out where we have fallen short of expectations or please just quit with it.
As for mine....Have at it
SIU 9-2, 7-1
UNI 9-2, 7-1
SDSU 8-3, 6-2 (It has to suck playing on the road at SIU and UNI every two years)
MSU 7-4, 5-3
Ill St 6-5, 5-3
YSU 5-6, 3-5
NDSU 4-7, 2-6
WIU 2-9, 1-7
Ind St 2-9, 0-8

That's pretty close to what I had. I had ISUB beating WIU, and WIU going winless in conference. I also had SDSU with less wins (been talked about with their schedule), MSU with a couple (1 or 2) and ISUR and YSU with more.....other than that pretty close to mine.
Youngstown State is having "Monday Night Football" tonight at Stambaugh Stadium. Coach Wolford wants fans to come out to check out the 2010 Penguins in full pads as they scrimmage against each other. Rumor has it our offense is looking very good and our defense is looking pretty weak, mainly due to the lack of depth and so much youth on that side of the ball with the losses of Bledsoe, Hill, and Outler, all starters at Safety and LB.
Depends what your thoughts are about the league. I just wanted to see if he really thought MSU would go 1-10. Was/Am willing to put something on the line that says we won't be under .500

6-5 or 5-6 will very likely be your record. The 5, 6, 7, spots could come out in any order of MSU, YSU, and NDSU, and you'll have to not slip up against the guins or the Bison.
FBS
SIU
UNI
SDSU
ISU
I don't see how you come away with fewer four losses out of those five, and neither NDSU or YSU will be pushovers.
You take 6-5, I'll take 5-6, for a t-shirt?
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

About 300 fans, per the YSU Athletic Dept, to check out some "Monday Night Football" at Stambaugh Stadium as the Penguins scrimmaged in full pads for the first time this August. The evening began with an October drill for about 15 minutes before drives began from the oppositions 20 and 40 yard lines, before the rest of the evening started from around their own 20 yard line.
Here is some analysis of the evening from one of our posters, who is not the most respected guy in Youngstown because let's just say, he tells it like it is and does not beat around the bush. If you want some analysis without the spin, read this: http://www.letsgoguins.com/forums/viewt ... ?f=2&t=218" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My own thoughts:
-Tyler from Purdue definitely has a great sized body and definitely looks a lot more mobile than his videos indicate.
-4 Star Bellamy is the real deal and will shine at this level.. Payton by graduation!?!?
-The community is really supporting Wolford... 300 fans for a scrimmage is something we have never seen, ever, even when Tressel was in town.
Ok so, since we are all bitching about everyones predictions, here is how I feel the season pans out for the Jacks. Granted, it is mildly optamistic, but I feel that this years team uses the Montana game as fuel to start this season right and keep it going.
This is what I posted at sdsufans.com:
Heres what I think we need to do next year to make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I believe we can win every game, but with this schedule, I think any team in the land would struggle to go undefeated with this one boys. So, with that in mind, and the schedule:
@Delaware W/L
Ill. St W
@Nebraska L
@UNI L
Western Ill. W
@SIU W
YSU W
@Ind St. W
MSU W
@NDSU W
UND W
This is what I think the team this year is capable of. I don't have any idea how the UD game is going to turn out but I would lean towards a loss, with it being the first game (as of now), the extreme distance, and their homefield will be rocking for this one. I definately believe we have the talent to beat them down, but its going to be as tough as the game that shall not be mentioned from the playoffs last year.
Ill St will be a tough as nails opponent this year I believe, but I know we pull this out at home for the opener. We better have a big ole showing from the fans at this one.
I know we will put on a great showing at Nebraska, but with it only being TOB's second year, and losing a lot of key guys from the line, I don't think we quite pull it off. We will definately open some eyes though for sure!
@UNI I just always have a bad feeling about at their place. We always play bad there, and after a tough three game stretch ending with Nebraska, I think we will also be more banged up than they will be, with them only having to face Iowa St. for their FBS game. I think we have a down game here and don't pull it off.
WIU, our easy game, if there is such a think in the MVFC this year. We should be able to pound them unless they somehow pull off a remarkable regrouping effort from last year under a new coach.
@SIU, this is the year we take down the hound doggies, with them coming off a tough stretch ending with UNI before us. We were so close the last time we played there, and I think this year we will be by far the most battle hardend team in the MVFC by this time, and really punch them in the mouth. Big W here.
YSU at home, man we need this win. They will be a good team this year I think, and I mean good, good enough to challenge for the top 3 spots (if reports are to be believed, which I somewhat do after last years game). But we are animals at home, and should have a rocking crowd at home for this one. We pull this one off in a tough game.
@ Ind. St, one of the easiest places to play of late, but I think this years team will be much more of a challenge, and more of a trap than every before, but with our staff I doubt we let them trip us up. Should be an easy W relatively speaking.
MSU at home. This will be yet another improved team in the MVFC, but yet again, its OUR HOUSE, and we rarely lose at our house. Especially when we need to win. Win this one, we are in the playoffs with how I think we do in the games prior to this one.
@NDSU I refuse to believe they will beat us, ever, no matter how good they are because, darnit, they are our rivals, and you DO NOT lose to your rivals. 4 in a row babay! The best and tastiest W of the year
UND Not a slack opponent by any means, and they will be very up for this game, so it should be a tough one to finish with. We should win this one IMO however, if we do lose we probrably won't be in very good shape by the end of this season anyways. Finishing strong in what should be a pretty solid draw for how late in the year it is, just because of the old connections from DII.
And that is how I feel we do this year, based off of our schedule. I did put quite a bit of time into this even if I didn't pick the other teams or the overall conference records and standings, but I went and looked at everyones schedules to see who they had before their SDSU game and rosters and such to help me decide how the team will fare. Agree or not, if you want to tear it apart, show your reasons.
GO JACKS.
Please don't tell Obama what comes after a Trillion.
Last year I picked the bunnies to beat UNI and SIU because they were home games. I got a lot of slack from everybody, specifically the UNI contingent. They split, but finished second in the MVFC. This year I'm picking the Jacks to lose on the road to these same teams. You may beat Delaware, 1st game of the season, but following it with Ill St, Nebraska, UNI, a bye at WIU and the SIU is going to be a tough stretch. Getting by relatively healthy will be the key to the rest of the season.

Very true, just have a good feeling about playing at SIU for some reason. Don't ask me why. Had a bad one when we played them at home last year, so I'll be an optimist

SIU has the toughest part of their schedule just before the Jacks come to town: @Illinois, SEMO, @YSU, @ISU, UNI, SDSU. The winner might come down to who is still walking. I like our chances in our new stadium.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

NDSU sees its toughest stretch first 2 games: @ Kansas & @ UNI. After that we get a nice couple of OOC games at home until WIU Rolls into Fargo for the First MVFC game. After that the rest are all conference games finishing up at home with SDSU.
I think its a favorable schedule for us, but lose the UNI game and you are hoping to go undefeated the rest of the way. For sure you have to split SIU and UNI. After that just hope. There will be a lot of unexpected things happening.
Big news is Tyler Westphal, LB recruit from the Wisconsin Badgers has dropped out and is apparently going to D3 ball. Good news: Grant Olson highly regarded LB True Freshman will probably play this year behind talented Jr Preston Evans at MLB. Look for this a lot on the BISON. Good veteran backed up by a highly regarded young player. That will put a lot of our experienced players in starting roles and take advantage of the the youthful athletes in back up roles.
NDSU has a lot of top recruits and there are probably 4 or 5 more Redshirts that are likely to see playing time in backup roles. Its a young team not even 25% of the roster is juniors and seniors combined. Last count I had was 21. There are some very good players in those classes leading the way for some very good, young players.
We have lost two players for the season to injury. Neither was a starter. Its just terrible news.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
