Props to JMU on a great season. The backup QB should be commended for stepping up in this game.

Let me just say this to all the CAA apologists:

FOKK YOU!!!!

Especially all you smarmy fokkin' Dukes fans, so smug in your certainty that there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that the Griz could hang with your mighty Dukes. Guess what? WRONG AGAIN!!! Your team was flat out OWNED by the Griz tonight. The refs did everything in their POWER to give that game over to JMU....those two call reversals were first class bullshit, but the Griz pulled it out anyways, just like they always do.....if I were an ACC ref right now, I'd be embarrassed....those guys almost made a fcuking mockery of the game. Thank God the Griz prevailed anyway. Your backup QB is to be commended, as he stepped up and actually played as well as Launders....gotta question Landers' heart, not coming back for potentially the last game of his college career.

As predicted in another thread, Griz win the turnover battle, JMU has a drive or two stall in the red zone, Chase Reynolds runs all over the JMU defense...jesus I'm so fcuking smart I amaze myself sometimes. :D :D :D :D

Don't be sad, JMU fans....when UNI beats Richmond tomorrow, and it's an "All West of the Mississippi" Final, you can rest assured that you are NOT in the best conference in America. You got 1/3 of your dammed conference in the tourney and STILL couldn't get a national champ!!!!

Montana WON!!!

I wouldn't have nessarily said that. The backup QB came in and did a great job running the ball. The one thing I think Landers would have brought to the table is better accuarcy throwing the ball which I think would have brought the game to overtime. That still might not have gotten the job done either way though. I think what cost them the game is the turnovers by McGee and Ward. If we would have held onto the ball, then I think JMU would have won. But that didn't happen and Montana won. Congrats. It was a great season, but the thing that sucks about it the most is that they beat everyone on their schedule and they clearly had the toughest schedule, but they lost a game where it was win or go home. Oh btw Jeff Fischer; Titans head coach was there. I dunno if this is because Montana isn't a rival of JMU since this was the only second time playing each other; from what I saw at the game Montana players had good sportsmanship towards the JMU players and fans so my hats off to them. Also, I am leaving this board now; studying for the LSATs so I don't really want to waste my time when I got a huge test coming up soon ( I was planning on leaving the board when they lost or after the championship game whichever came first). Before I leave, what do you guys think of JMU's backup? I am figuring he will be the starter next year. He did a great job running the ball, but I don't think he will run over anybody since he is so small. His accuarcy wasn't that great, I dunno if he is truely that bad or because he never really got to play this year. Thoughts?????

godukes,

Jeff Fisher was there because his son plays for Montana, #25 Brandon Fisher LB. As for your comment on the back-up not passing as well as Landers, I have to disagree. I watched the game again and his passes were on the mark - all night. The INT throw was a little high but the DB hit your receiver and the ball popped up. On that last drive he hit 3 receivers in the numbers and they dropped the ball when hit. I honestly don't think Landers could have done much better, even throwing it.

I was really impressed by the kid. Having to come into a semi-final cold and not really expecting to play - your team has a bright future!

All year, Montana has done a good job of stripping the ball and making solid hits. They did a great job of that last night. It was, IMO, the inability of your D to stop the Griz O -until the 4th that was the difference. JMU, like Wofford, milks the clock with their offense and that was a downfall for them as the passing game was not sharp (from the receivers end) and running plays take a lot of time off the clock.

Oh didn't know that about Titans head coach. Yea some were dropped, but from what I saw there were more thrown bad. Also, on the goalline stop I think JMU would have gotten in if Landers was in since he is so much bigger than Drew Duzack or whatever his name is. I am not saying they would have won the game just saying the game would have been closer. I know JMU will be good in the future, but I don't see them winning a title next year, but you never know. I am pretty sure they are losing Landers, Holloman, starting DE(long name), starting LB, I think McCllough(starting CB), Haywood(up for Buchannon award), kicker, punter, and I think two starting offensive lineman. Landers can run people over this Drew guy can't being only 190/195. His throwing I don't think was that great, maybe because he doesn't play much at all. I remember when Landers wasn't that great of throwing 2 years ago. Well, at least I got my Steelers to follow during football season.

Trust me he isn't. Landers barely threw the ball so I don't know what you are going by. Landers TD-INT ratio is 21-4. I would be shocked to see Drew up for the Walter Payton Award his senior year. He is way too small. If he was fast like Edwards then maybe. But good luck to Drew in the future.

Obviously Dudzik isn't as good of a player as Landers at this point, but he did come in & play as well or better than Landers last night. The Griz had more trouble with his running than the running of Landers and he had some pretty nice throws, especially the fourth down throw at the end that Swink stripped out of McCarter's hands.

Well first off, I don't know where you got those attacks by JMU fans saying that Montana doesn't have a shot. There are only two JMU fans on this site and I admitted that Montana has a chance to win it. So, if it was another forum you need to go over there. Second off, Montana didn't own JMU. They barely beat them with the best FCS player out of the second half. I was wondering why Landers wasn't coming back if he was standing on the sideline and not sitting. Maybe the head coach thought JMU had a shot to win it with the backup in and they did. Or maybe he had confidence in the JMU o-line opening up the holes for the 2nd string QB. Good luck against Richmond because you are going to need it.

Landers outweighs Armanti by 40 lbs, but that 40lbs isn't in his chest....seriously, he's the leader of your team in the national semis and he takes himself out of the game? and is up walking around? What's he saving himself for?....next weeks game?...enjoy the offseason.....

The only reason JMU had a chance to win it is because they apparently paid off the ACC refs to reverse two calls on the field, NEITHER of which had sufficient evidence to overturn. Bullshit of the highest order.

If the Richmond that showed up today shows up in Chatty, we beat THEM by 14.
