The Red Sox are in the process of dealing out over $10 million in bonuses today as they attempt to sign their remaining draft picks prior to tonights midnight deadline.

Boston is one of many teams, if not all that have been going above the slotted bonuses today.

One signee for Boston, Garin Cecchini, following his signing immediately donated $20,000 of his bonus to the Jimmy Fund. Mr. Cecchini sure knows how to make an entrance to the Boston sports scene.

The Red Sox highest remaining unsigned pick is Anthony Ranaudo who dominated the Cape Cod League this summer which made his value skyrocket is expected to be signed before the deadline, that will be a major boost to the Red Sox. Ranaudo could have a legitimate shot of seeing action in Boston at some point in 2011.

Sox and Ranaudo got deal done right before deadline. The guy is a top 5 talent gotten in supplemental round so the monetary value of the deal is likely going to be high. But still a steal. As I said earlier he could be in Boston at some point next season, though the Sox wont rush him, but he may not need much minor league time.
