High School: Sedro-Woolley

2008 Honors
Academic All-Big Sky Conference

Returning for a sixth season after getting an NCAA waiver due to injury... has seen three seasons cut short by injury, 2006 (knee), 2007 (foot) and 2009 (knee)... was the starter in the season opener in both 2007 and 2008... last year, he went down with a torn ACL during summer workouts just a few weeks before the start of practice... was expected to be in a heated competition for playing time... that should be the case again in 2010... has a fair amount of experience, but remarkably has appeared in only 10 games with four starts in the previous five years... very strong and agile for his size.

JUNIOR SEASON • 2008
Finally stayed healthy for an entire season and played in seven games, starting three... was 74-150 for 1,111 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions... had a solid performance in a start at Sacramento State (9/27) completing 27 of 53 for 394 yards, three touchdowns and one interception... was 15-27 for 246 yards and one touchdown in relief against Northern Arizona (10/11)... combined with Drew Hubel to produce the nation’s top passing offense for the second year in a row (they combined for 4,023 of PSU’s 4,094 passing yards) with an average of 372.2 yards per game... named Academic All-Big Sky Conference.

SOPHOMORE SEASON • 2007
Battled Brian White in preseason camp for the starting role and earned it, getting the start against 10th-ranked McNeese State in the season opener... unfortunately, broke a bone in his right foot in the third period and missed the remainder of the season... completed 12 of 24 passes for 126 yards prior to that.

FRESHMAN SEASON • 2006
Earned the backup role at quarterback and played briefly in two games... replaced Sawyer Smith early in the game at California (9/16), but was knocked out himself, suffering a torn ACL... missed the remainder of the season... completed one pass for two yards and rushed twice for nine yards in his two appearances... redshirted the 2005 season.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered in football twice, basketball and baseball three times each at Sedro Woolley High School… a second team All-Northwest League quarterback and safety… team’s Most Improved Player as a junior… set single-game passing record with 323 yards in his first start at quarterback… also earned All-League honors in basketball and baseball… his team’s Most Valuable Player in basketball and Offensive Player of the Year in baseball… honor roll for four years and a member of the National Honor Society... named Skagit Valley Herald Athlete of the Year in 2005.
