In line for win number 16, nice bounce back from his last outing. Rox needed this win bad, even though playoff hopes are pretty much done.

YEAA BOY!

Something like 9Ks too. He looked good, I was worried when he did all that running on Spilly's double.

Tied the Rockies single-season wins record. Pretty safe to say he'll break it.

Ubaldo should have 11 starts left, he needs to win 8 of them to get to 25.

I don't get it... why does Colorado CONSTANTLY leave this guy in well over 100 pitches. Every time he goes over 100-110 the guy gets vulnerable and then gets shelled.. happened AGAIN tonight. They're riding him awfully hard.. for some reason. Was pitching a great game until he hit 100 pitches.

Poor managing and poor hitting is really costing Ubaldo a chance at anything. But keep laughing, Sox..

Ya he should be 19-2 or 3, no run support when he lost 1-0 to mets. Streets blown save and Barmes's error against Milwaukee took him outta the win column. D-Backs loss was more Ubaldos doings, still not much run support. Last night still not a whole alot of run support, and I think they left him in way too long. I hate to say it but ya he probably won't win the Cy Young award because everybody is too busy riding east coast dick.

And yet, his team is STILL closer to the playoffs than the Red Sox.

Probably is way to strong a word right now. At best Wainwright has a slight edge over Halladay, with over a month to go in the season it's way to early to call this race.

The best Jimenez can hope for at this point is second place in Cy Young voting behind Doc Halladay.

Halladay will probably win due to Jimenez's challenging second half.

Agreed - Jimenez choked when the Rockies needed wins.

Halladay and Wainright are almost interchangeable:

Halladay: 241.7 IP, 20-10, 213 K's, 2.52 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 8 CG, 3 SO, .250 Opp Ave
Wainright: 230.3 IP, 20-11, 213 K's, 2.47 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 5 CG, 2 SO, .224 Opp Ave

Both had better #'s at the all-star break, and faded slightly (ERA's above 3.00 after the break).

So, does Halladay get the nod because a) his team is going to the playoffs, b) he pitches in a more renowned "hitter's" park? c) all of the above?

Choice A. Halladay's team has the best record in baseball and Wainright's team will be getting in some early autumn golf in about a week and a half.

I don't think the Halladay-Wainwright race is over yet, but right now I think Halladay gets the nod. He has not lost in September and his team has surged into the top spot in the NL while Wainwright has had some spotty outings and his team has faded.

He's been been pretty good at picking up wins for the Roxs, he's probably had 3 or 4 really bad outings, the rest of his losses were close. But for some reason he hasn't been the same after the all start break. Maybe the pressure has gotten to him, the Roxs pitching staff has been influx all year. I don't think he'll win Cy Young, he's just not there yet. Stuff wise, he's one of the best in the league, but he just doesn't have the mental fortitude yet like guys like Halladay.
