Mazoli no longer eligibe to play for Ole Miss
Mazoli no longer eligibe to play for Ole Miss
The NCAA has denied him his eligibility to play this coming season.
While I don't have a problem with the decision I feel they should have done it sooner for both Mazoli and Ole Miss's benefit

Re: Mazoli no longer eligibe to play for Ole Miss
Why the cr@p would they wait this long? Makes no sense. He wasted his time and $$ heading out to Mississippi, and they likely wasted a schollie on him. Even if he was walking on, he cost the school $$ in terms of food and materials like pre-wrap, ankle tape, ice, etc., expended during fall camp. Quite possibly, they were depending on him as starting QB.
The NCAA is irresponsible, IMO, to have done this so close to the season. Of course, what else is new?
BTW, is there any chance Tennessee bribed the NCAA to time it like this?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Not a good move by the NCAA. Yes, they have a "moral ground" on this one, but otherwise the reasons they went public with are pure BS.
You mess with the S-E-C they may just walk....

He just transfered to Ole Miss like a month ago. He would have just submitted his papers. How could the NCAA make a decision long ago. Tell him he is ineligible before he made a decision to transfer?
This guy is a criminal who was kicked off his last team. He doesnt deserve a transfer waiver.

He wasn't kicked off of Oregon's team.Franks Tanks wrote:UNI31f wrote:Agreed....if they were going to not let him play they should have done it LONG ago.

Yes he was. He was suspended after the first arrrest, and kicked off the team in early June after the 2nd. He committed two pretty serious crimes is about 4 months.

After reading this article, I have a little different opinion on the guy. Some of you are too quick to judge I think...

The untold story behind Jeremiah Masoli's past, downfall at Oregon
Jeremiah Masoli is asking you to open your mind, to consider the possibility that, regardless of what you've read or heard, he is not a thug. That would be an easier sell, of course, if he hadn't spent nearly three months in a juvenile facility in 2005 for robbery; if he hadn't pled guilty in March of this year to burglarizing a fraternity house; if his career as the starting quarterback -- and a potential Heisman contender -- at Oregon hadn't ended last month after police found him driving with marijuana in his car.

I read that article as well. He has plenty of excuses for his past, but the fact remains that this guy has a pattern of getting into trouble.Beef wrote:After reading this article, I have a little different opinion on the guy. Some of you are too quick to judge I think...
