Was at the game tonight. Other than the ticketing and box office absolutely atrocious, everything about tonight was great. The crowd was in it and loud. GaSt took full advantage of the two video boards and all of the ribbon boards and used them great. The entire dome was made over with GaSt stuff covering all of the Falcons logos.

If the Georgia State fans, alumni, and students can keep this enthusiasm, Georgia State has a real chance at being a very good program in a few years. A game in there against a CAA team would be an amazing atmosphere.

The on-the-field stuff wasn't nearly as impressive as the crowd and the atmosphere. I've been to a lot of places and this was on par with upper-level FCS/lower-level FBS. Granted, it was the first game and if they can sustain it will be key, but it's a great start.

That's about as many fans as attended to Falcons two scrimages, I mean exibition games at the Dome. Very good coverage in that awful rag called the Atlanta Journal this morning too.

Because they are in Atlanta. Atlanta isn't a sports town. That's basically the reason.

Atlanta has a bad rep as a sports town, although the Falcons seemed to draw well when I lived there during Vick's first couple seasons. Anybody remember the phone calls from Jason Terry of the Hawks?
