Wofford's secondary was very impressive for the first 50 minutes (by our standards at least)

UNC QB Dylan Orms impressed the heck out of me this week. I had concerns about his arm strength and ability to throw the deep ball, but on his first pass attempt of the game, he led his WR perfectly for a 70 yard TD. And then he did it again later in the half to prove it wasn't a fluke. The kid is for real.

I had a feeling the Bears would beat Adams State pretty handily, but I never thought we'd be up 44-0 at halftime. UNC isn't going to be a chew toy for the rest of the Big Sky anymore.

As for Georgia State...they play Jax State who just upset Ole Miss and the Defending BCS Champs. Enough Said.
You're right. I think rather than 1st season I should say 1st game. I don't mean it to demean Georgia State or ODU, but just a comparison. Lamar dove in to the deep end head first and did fine. It earns a lot more respect than beating Shorter or Chowan IMHO.
I agree, I think the first year ODU having football is going to be the only year you see us having a weak schedule because once we join the CAA its going to be really tough and obviously the coaches, fans, and other ODU supporters realize that. Even head coach Bobby Wilder said after going 9-2 last year we would get crushed by CAA schools.

In our first year of CAA play next year we have to go to Delaware, URI, 'Nova, and WM and then play UMass, Towson, JMU and Richmond at home...not going to be easy once we join the CAA.

In the end, I think the way both ODU and GSU are going about building their programs is in the best interest of both schools. With the way, ODU is committed to its athletic programs and offering the best possible facilities it can to future student-athletes, I am very confident that we can build a top tier CAA program in the near future. Wilder said he is on a 5-year plan...
