Uh...you realy wouldn't want Morneau (really?), a utitlity player like Cuddy play has played everywhere but short, second, and pitcher that can hit 25 HR a year, and have you looked at the numbers Young is putting up?ToTheLeft wrote:No, Yes, No, No, No, Noclenz wrote:Um....Denard Span, Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Delmon Young, Cuddy, and Orlando Husdon would all be on my team before him....
I'd rather have Longoria. Or Crawford.

Cuddy did play second this year.clenz wrote:Uh...you realy wouldn't want Morneau (really?), a utitlity player like Cuddy play has played everywhere but short, second, and pitcher that can hit 25 HR a year, and have you looked at the numbers Young is putting up?ToTheLeft wrote:

Ok...every position except short and pitcher.Gil Dobie wrote:Cuddy did play second this year.clenz wrote: Uh...you realy wouldn't want Morneau (really?), a utitlity player like Cuddy play has played everywhere but short, second, and pitcher that can hit 25 HR a year, and have you looked at the numbers Young is putting up?

I believe he was drafted as a SS tooclenz wrote:Ok...every position except short and pitcher.Gil Dobie wrote:

I forgot about that game. I had to google it to figure out what game it was.

Long of it short...the dude can play anywhere he is needed, hits for a decent average, and pretty good power the last couple years.Gil Dobie wrote:I believe he was drafted as a SS tooclenz wrote: Ok...every position except short and pitcher.

I'd rather have CarGo than Morneau. More versatile. I like Morneau, but I prefer a player that's more all around like CarGo.clenz wrote:Uh...you realy wouldn't want Morneau (really?), a utitlity player like Cuddy play has played everywhere but short, second, and pitcher that can hit 25 HR a year, and have you looked at the numbers Young is putting up?ToTheLeft wrote:

Whatdaya mean? Isn't the humidor for the players' cigars?GannonFan wrote:I'll take him on my team, as long as he's able to bring Coors Field along and keep hitting there.
I know his attitude issues in Tampa...that hasn't been the case in MN though. It's amazing what a strong leadership presense in the locker room can do for a player.ToTheLeft wrote:I'd rather have CarGo than Morneau. More versatile. Cuddy is Ben Zobrist with some more power and not as good of a glove. And I wouldn't take him over CarGo. Not saying he's a bad player. Just not the kind of guy I want instead of Carlos.
And I would hope you know where Delmon Young came from. I know all about him. He's a great player but was a locker room cancer in Tampa. If I could get Delmon Young with Ben Zobrist's personality, then hell yeah, I'd love to have him.
To be honest, it takes a guy with a helluva backbone to put up with the kind of losing and lack of support from the front office that went on in the Devil Rays era. Delmon didn't want to be a part of that. If I could take him back right now, I would (if I was the theoretical GM).clenz wrote:I know his attitude issues in Tampa...that hasn't been the case in MN though. Gardy doesn't really have to do the "discipline" with players, the team takes care of problem players.

I'm going to ignore our statements on Denard Span, Delmon Young, Michael Cuddyer anf Orlando Hudson, because those are just idiotic, but I will address Mauer and Morneau.clenz wrote:Um....Denard Span, Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Delmon Young, Cuddy, and Orlando Husdon would all be on my team before him....

the RBI total is nice, but thats a product of the lineup. His .303/.334/.488 doesnt come close to comparing to CarGo...clenz wrote:Uh...you realy wouldn't want Morneau (really?), a utitlity player like Cuddy play has played everywhere but short, second, and pitcher that can hit 25 HR a year, and have you looked at the numbers Young is putting up?ToTheLeft wrote:

The OBP does. CarGo doesn't walk often, so his OBP is comparable in the sense that it's not much higher than his BA.UNHWildCats wrote:the RBI total is nice, but thats a product of the lineup. If Coors Field has that much of an effect, let's just give Ubaldo Jimenez the Cy Young right now.Gil Dobie wrote:Gonzalez is batting .394 with 25 HR and 66 RBI at Coors field. You can have him, good player, but on any other team he's a .280 hitter with 15-20 HR's and 80 RBI.

It's not "IF", Coors Field "DOES" have that much of an affect. Look at Gonzalez stats on the road.free7694 wrote:If Coors Field has that much of an effect, let's just give Ubaldo Jimenez the Cy Young right now.Gil Dobie wrote:Gonzalez is batting .394 with 25 HR and 66 RBI at Coors field.
