Certainly a better representation of what the CAA appears to be so far.

He's over on flamefans. great guy. He has the best write ups of fcs teams I've ever read. Very knowledgeable and down to earth, and tells it like it is. His polls are based on his knowledge of the teams, not someone elses poll or the "popular vote." Chris Lang is the man haha

I am pretty sure he's aware of CS.com. He might even be registered.

He was on AGS for a while.

Chris is one of the rare writers with exposure to teams from across the country.

He was the Flagstaff Paper's NAU beat writer, so has Big Sky and Western knowledge. Now works for Lynchburg paper, and covers Liberty, Big South and Virginia schools.

1 James Madison - No problem
2 Villanova - No problem
3 Appalachian State - No problem
4 Elon - You've got to be fucking kidding me. #4? Seriously? Using this logic why isn't NAU up here? They've blown out THEIR DII and lost by the exact same score to ASU...
5 Northern Iowa - No problem
6 Jacksonville State - Again, a I-A win vaults them up. I think we'll find they're not this good.
7 Delaware - Are they possibly even better than THIS? Possibly....
8 Montana - too high until they show me something
9 Liberty - gotta give 'em their props. A I-A win is a I-A win, even if it IS Ball State.
10 Massachusetts - Team looks good so far. Probably should be above Montana and DEFINITELY above Liberty.
11 Southern Illinois - We know absolutely NOTHING about this team relative to other FCS teams. This is a pure guess.
12 William & Mary - Ranked too high. They lost the only meaningful game they've played (as have the Griz, of course)
13 New Hampshire - Another team we know nothing about...put them in the SIU categeory.
14 Cal Poly - Probably underrated a bit
15 Wofford - When you have to RALLY to beat Chuck South you've got issues....
16 Northern Arizona - Again, why not swap with Elon?
17 Furman - Should they drop when they lose this weekend?
18 Richmond - I think they smoke Elon this weekend
19 South Dakota State - was last season a fluke?
20 South Carolina State - Another team that is a complete mystery.
21 North Dakota State - Was the Kansas game a fluke?
22 Prairie View A&M
23 Weber State - Too low?
24 South Dakota - So they don't get as much credit for beating Minnesota as Liberty does for beating BALL STATE???
25 Gardner-Webb - no comment

I was under the impression the CAA should always be 1-5 at the VERY LEAST. :coffee:

Why no comment on GDub? You stated a 1-A win is a 1-A win. Even if it was Akron, it has to count for something. I for one am pretty excited about the pub that we are getting from this win and the confidence it has given our guys. To be mentioned in any national poll is huge to me!

Hi everyone,

I mentioned on my blog yesterday that I goofed on Elon and had them way too high. No excuses, but my travel situation this weekend wasn't the best, as I drove from Lynchburg to Muncie for the Ball State game, so I kind of rushed it a bit Sunday morning before getting on the road. I probably have Prairie View too high as well, and I though I wasn't high on S.F. Austin to start the season, the win over a good Albany team needed to be rewarded. If I had it to do again, I'd swap SFA and Prairie View.

Re: South Dakota vs. Liberty, it's a good question. I had Liberty as a Top 15 team in the preseason and South Dakota sort of came out of nowhere to win that game, so that's the reasoning on that. I'm very flexible on moving teams up and down, and I often find myself scrapping the last week's ballot and starting over, which is pretty much what I did last week.

I appreciate the feedback.

The rest of it might be ok, but the Big Sky team ranking are all messed up. Not sure how he could justify having NAU and Weber State in the top 25, but no MSU. They are at least as good as either one of those teams. EWU, I will conceed, is probably not a top 25 team at this point.....but MSU is, IMO.
