I was one row behind the student section on the southwest side of the stadium. Our fans and their fans were both trying to make as much noise as possible when the Eagles were on offense The cheerleaders were trying (failing) to get everyone to shut up

You have room to talk smack to UM right now, and MSU as well. But to say EWU is the second best atmosphere is a joke. You just broke a record attendance, did you not (with the help of Griz fans). MSU hasn't had that few of fans (your record) in our stadium in ... probably since about 2001. I've been to a few games at EWU, and I don't understand how you can claim a stadium with fans only on one side of the stadium is anywhere near as loud as 13,000 fans from 3 sides. I sat smack dab in the the middle of the EWU fans, and no one stood up, or made any kind of noise at all really.

The ONLY time EWU fans get excited for EWU football is for the Griz; hence the reason they stormed the field after their first conference game of the season. Just watch, even if you win your next two road games, I bet you won't get over 9,000 for the next home game vs NAU.

You can say that and it is true to an extent. There were a few less Griz fans than EWU fans. The funniest thing is that there were so many loud Griz fans there we gave you a few false starts. That's gotta be tough to swallow (present company excepted) for your fan base. If you go and watch those highlights when the Griz were going in for scores it looks like a crowd shot of a home game.

I won't be convinced the Griz reign is over until Eastern takes the BSC championship outright. That said, I love Black Falkin's swagger. Few if any of the Eagle faithful could be found online just a couple years ago. Now. Well, there's a confidence around our program that I've never seen. The fact of the matter is this. You had barely over 11,000 at the game (a new record holy shit), with a large portion being Griz fans. I played in front of over 12,000 at the Division 3 level 4 times. So those sideline passes you have are equivalent to a fucking junior high game.
