Liberty is a good team, and I think one of the best 25 in the country, but I can understand why people are hesitant on that thought. The knee jerk reaction by poll voters has always been that you cannot be any good if you lose to an NEC team. There's no way that poor little NEC team can be any good.

Jax State 4-0 with an FBS win (Ole Miss)
SFA 3-1 with an FBS loss and just got by UNI.

Looks like both are off to good starts as far as poll voters see things, but Jax gets the votes over SFA by virtue of that FBS win and you know the CAA teams (and App) are gonna get the votes over an SLC team anyway. So far, deservedly so IMHO.

The bigger disgrace is the amount of people leaving UNH out. Yes the loss to URI was embarassing... but does a fluke loss really equate to UNH not being one of the top 25 teams in the country?

Possibly, but I didn't knock them a lot for RI loss. As a MT fan I've seen shit like that happen a lot and I know that a traditionally strong team that can bounce back will finish pretty strong. If they slip against another weak team it will compound and they will drop a little heavier if that happens. I was pretty happy with the way a lot of my placements performed from last week so that gave me some swagger in my picks.

If they do well the REST of the season then they'll get the appropriate nudge of the close JMU loss that they deserve but they don't get the nudge without a little more info. and a couple of wins.

That's what I was saying last week when some of the Liberty guys were really overvaluing the Ball St. win. I don't even think Ball St. has a winning record against FCS teams in in the last 4 or 5 yrs. Even if they are about 50/50 with FCS teams they ain't what one would call a good FBS win. Jesus Christ we went 4-1 against Idaho and we weren't beating our chest as if Idaho was some great win (most of us anyway ).
