On the other hand, most of the tea party type candidates just don't look like serious presidential contenders and the conservative candidates that seem serious have little presidential pizzazz. 2012 is a long time off.
The more I see of Christie, the more I like him!
It will be great for the country if the Tea Party supports lots of successful candidates in the mid terms, because the establishment politicians left and right need to be shaken out of their smug arrogance. But I have yet to see the Tea Party leader (or the Democrat, Republican or Libertarian) who, as President, can bring the country together and set a course of genuine liberty and prosperity.

Whatever spillover Obama inherited was from the economic disruption created by war and terrorist attacks and by bubbles created by government intervention in the housing and credit markets, NOT from any inherent inferiority of free enterprise as asserted by Democrats, progressives, socialists and communists. Democrats and Republicans alike are responsible for the bubbles.Cap'n Cat wrote:Dude has no concept of "spillover". It all started in the reign of Bush, Mort.free7694 wrote:

Obama's fundamental misunderstanding of basic economics and misplaced anti-colonial worldview have led to counterproductive domestic and foreign policy "solutions" that have only made the Demopublican status quo even worse.

Re: If the Presidential Election was Today...
The Democrat Congressional supermajority under Obama has certainly been an unmitigated disaster, and single party control of both Congress and the White House has often been a bad thing. Single party control during the Bush years was indeed bad, but the split control during the last years of the Bush presidency was arguably worse.clenz wrote:A super majority is always a bad thing.
A super majority might be a bad thing again in 2012, but a Tea Party Congress with a RINO president like Romney, who could bring people together, might be a great thing.

Won't disagreee with you on that point. The problem is that Obama doubled and tripled down on the Bush policies that created this mess in the first place.Cap'n Cat wrote:free7694 wrote:
