USA Today/Pew Forum - "Catholics don't know shit"

Post by D1B »

     Highest scoring group - Atheists, lowest - the fucking catholics

Doctrines don't grab us. Only 55% of Catholic respondents knew the core teaching that the bread and wine in the Mass become the body and blood of Christ, and are not merely symbols. Just 19% of Protestants knew the basic tenet that salvation is through faith alone, not actions as well.  Bunch of fucking sheep!

•Basic Bible eludes us. Just 55% of all respondents knew the Golden Rule isn't one of the Ten Commandments; 45% could name all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).  Cult, plain and simple

•World religions are a struggle. Fewer than half (47%) knew that the Dalai Lama is a Buddhist; 27% knew most people in Indonesia are Muslims. 70% of the world is NOT christian No wonder we shit on the rest of world. He Joe your god sucks, your one true church has a 70% failure rate!

"People say, 'I have a personal connection with God and that's really all I need to know.' Who am I to argue?" says Pew's Alan Cooperman, a co-author of the report. But religion, as a force in history and a motivator in present times, "has consequences in the world," he adds, so an intellectual baseline, whatever your faith or lack of faith, can "shape your role as a citizen in the public square."

The top scoring groups were atheists/agnostics, Jews and Mormons. These tiny groups, adding up to less than 7% of Americans, scored particularly well on world religion and U.S. constitutional questions. It's unclear why, although highly educated people overall did best on the quiz, researchers say.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Anytime you give a pop trivia test (which is what this is) to the American public, the results don't look so good. Doesn't matter what the subject is: history, religion, civics, science. Several times a year, there is some survey and new stories which follow declaring the American public idiots.

The atheists answered about 19 or 20 questions out 32 correctly. Nothing to pat yourself on the back about. That's an "F" where I went to school. You guys failed just like every other group.

Call this a bump. And it was in USA Today yesterday.

Catholics scored the worst Andy. Typical cult - mindless automatons who don't know shit, they just do what they're told. Shit was forced on you as an infant and you can't shake it off - like a disease.

SMFH at catholic and christians and jews and muslims - The idiots of the world. :ohno:

Actuallly Joe - this survey pretty much calls american catholics idiots. One would think they would ace these things since religion is such an important part of their lives.

Atheists scored better than catholics!

But you and Hen and andy have a regular "69" date with the associate priests after 12:30 mass every Sunday. You're bound to pick up a few things during that.

Catholics helped BO get elected. Back in time I read that 70% of Catholics approved of the job BO was doing on his first 100 days poll.

It seems now that Catholics are waking up to what BO's true agenda is and being a group that votes in droves it will be interesting to track who they support this election.

I copy and paste every anti Christian story I see and send to my Christian friends and just say. Why do the Neo-Marxists that used to be democrats hate Christians so much?

I love this board because it gives me so much material.

I just sent this one to my Catholic email list.

--

An art exhibit that critics say features Jesus receiving oral sex from a man is under fire in Loveland, Colorado. The artwork is part of an exhibit in the city’s public museum.

“It is visual profanity,” said art gallery owner Linda King, in an interview with the Loveland Reporter-Herald. “It disgraces the God of all creation.”

The controversial artwork is part of 10-artist exhibit called, “The Legend of Bud Shark and His Indelible Ink.” The lithograph showing the son of God engaged in a sex act is called, “The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals,” and was created by Stanford University professor Enrique Chagoya.

Yawn.
Lame.
Pedestrian.
What a dullard.

This has been done so many times before that it is a cliche. In the artworld, such work belongs next to the Velvet Elvis and the dogs playing poker.

If this “artist” had any courage, he’d show Mohammed instead of Jesus. That’s cutting edge. That’s breaking new ground. That’s dangerous. That’s truly being willing to sacrifice for the sake of art.

I triple-dog dare the professor.

Joe, you aint the average catholic. The church and all its bullshit is Dungeons & Dragons to you. You're a church dork and fetishist.

Your church is a failure. :tothehand:

Joe the average catholic:

1. Rarely goes to church
2. Rarely listens to what's going on in church
3. Doesn't give a shit about the pope and other bullshit you whack off to every night
4. Doesn't know shit about religion
5. Unlike you, is embarrassed by the scandals and corruption and, like you, would not leave their kids unattended with a catholic priest for even a milisecond, yet have no problem leaving them with the neighbor's 16 yr. old daughter for an entire evening.

All they care about is abortion and money.
