That's why I hate the NBA. Those stupid cocksuckers switched to all 7 game series, so I figured baseball did it too.

Above average temps in Minnesota this week. Today's high is in the 70's, game-time around 59 degrees.

Good thing about the Twins playing the Yankees is the prime-time schedule for today. :thumb:

I love MLB playoffs. One of my teams hasn't been in the playoffs for YEARS now  :ohno: , and I'll never watch any of these teams during the regular season unless they are playing the O's or Nat's. But come playoff time, I love it. Such an aura about the games, just really enjoyable to watch. :thumb:

It's amazing people bitch all season long about how baseball isn't fun to watch, yet come playoffs people can't get enough of it.

I enjoy baseball all season long, but I do think they could shorten the seasons some.

Don't know how this third game of the day can follow what just happened in Philly, maybe Jason Kubel will hit another grand slam off Mariano. :o

Most Phillie fans liked that too. The 5:00 start time for the Phils was popular with the people I spoke to today.

Not really amazing that people bitch about it at all. On a day to day basis, baseball is boring to watch. 1 game in a 162 game season hardly means squat compared to 1 game in a 11/12 (NCAA FB) or 16 (NFL) game season. Hell, it is hard to get pumped up for most games in a 82 (NHL/NBA) game season. But come playoff time, every game is vital.

And no, we don't need to bring up wild card games at the end of the reg. season or any game towards the end of the season that involves a potential playoff team or games between traditional rivals (assuming both teams are playing well). Obviously there are exceptions and these don't need to be dwelled upon.

When the Twins went up 2-0 early I heard the TV commentator say that the Twins took the lead first in the last 6 games that the Yankees won (or some stat like that), I got up off the coach and started doing stuff around the house. I knew it was over.

Up 1-0, and liking very much the Andy Pettitte v. Carl Pavano matchup tonight.

A dream come true to send the all-time leader in post-season wins out against a guy who wilts under pressure.

Series over.

Save the Yankees pitchers and just award them the ALCS now.

Twins have a good chance tonight, this year could be different. Sabathia did get stronger as the game progressed, while Liriano wasn't hitting his spots as well. I could see the Twins hitting a smaller, slower Pettite tonight. I'm pulling for the winner of this series to win it all. I would like to see the Giants in the NL after visiting their stadium this fall.

Wrong. Yankees sweep the entire playoffs. They have 25 all stars on the team, and no other team's stars are as good as their bench players.

Playoffs over.

Yanks up in the the 5th inning of game 2 - this is a must-win for the Twins.

As for the Yanks, I see them losing to the Rangers next round, and the Rangers, well nobody is beating the Phillies this year.
