Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
Typical Pavano. Doesn't get the call and he spits the bit on the very next pitch. I've seen it before.

The fix is on. The worst kept secret in baseball that MLB makes the most money as long as the Yankees stay alive in the playoffs. BS call, but the ump had to make it to earn his paycheck. Yankees sweep, that is what the commish wants.

You would think they would give the Yankees their 2 home games to maximize the money.JALMOND wrote:The fix is on. More will watch the ALCS and the World Series. Right now, better to give them maximum rest. Commish's view, Yankees sweep and Rangers/Rays go the distance.Gil Dobie wrote:You would think they would give the Yankees their 2 home games to maximize the money.JALMOND wrote:The fix is on. Yeah, he does suck. I mean, why shouldn't he accept the fact that he has to throw 4 strikes to get hitters out?JoltinJoe wrote:Typical Pavano. Doesn't get the call and he spits the bit on the very next pitch. I've seen it before.

Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
Had to chuckle, they called the Twins pitcher Ga-rear, it's pronounced Ga-rare.

I was watching with my wife and when the call didn't go his way, I told her, "He's going to get torched on the next pitch."danefan wrote:Suck it up and make the next pitch....you know like Mo did when he had to get 4 outs last night.DJH wrote:

That is in the top 10 of dumbest things said on this site. Everything is a fucking conspiracy right? Oh wait, no it's not. The Twins just can't beat the Yankees. Might as well bring on the money talks about buying championships too. Go screw.JALMOND wrote:The fix is on. Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
Surprised you never heard of it, all those years you were out in Moorhead. Selig has had it in for the Twins ever since they were supposed to be contracted out of the league. Seeing the calls favoring the Yankees and going against the Twins, not this year but years past since Selig had been the Commish borders on the insane. The Twins may not be able to beat the Yankees, but the Yankees get a lot of help.Willie wrote:That is in the top 10 of dumbest things said on this site. Everything is a **** conspiracy right? As far as money buying championships, sad to say but Mauer will never win a championship until he joins the Yankees. Morneau as well.
And for your third comment, some of us have a wife and some need a hand. I have a wife. I guess I will go screw. Bye.

Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
Jus curious, how don't the Yankmees buy championships. I mean, when you can pay more than 3/4 of the league can for players, how isn't that buying the champ? Or at least a playoff spot? Hell the majority of Yanks fans out there admit that for christs sake. No real dog in the fight here except for being a fan of a small market team. And don't give me shit about some luxury tax like it makes it all even.

Please don't tell Obama what comes after a Trillion.
Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
This is literally the last time I will ever say this, because I've said it at least 4 dozen times. The Twins had the richest owner in baseball. They could have had Jeter, A-Rod, Teixeira, etc. so don't fucking cry about the Yankees actually spending their money to help the franchise succeed. It's that simple.

Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
They actually have a good enough lineup with Morneau healthy, what the Twins lack is a #1 and #2 starting pitcher. They have like 6-7 good starters that would be 3's, 4's & 5's on good teams. Liriano maybe a 2 on a bad team. Their relievers are second level too without Nathan.Willie wrote:This is literally the last time I will ever say this, because I've said it at least 4 dozen times. I've never said the Twins aren't good. Just don't bring in the $ argument.

Re: Twins/Yankees ALDS Thread
When did the Twins have the richest owner, even somewhere close to Steinbrenner? For the last years while they were at the Metrodome, it was well documented that the Yankees had 6 or 7 players whose contracts exceeded the payroll of more than half of the MLB teams, including the Twins. If the Twins or others tried to stay on par with the Yankees, they would have been out of the league long ago (i.e. bankrupt).Willie wrote:This is literally the last time I will ever say this, because I've said it at least 4 dozen times. MLB is a broken model financially. Until it is fixed, there will be only 6 or 7 true big league teams with the rest playing like a minor league filter for them.
You need to get out more, my friend.
