I've been there three times and none of the times did I find anything "festive" about it. It really felt like a low level HS game.
What 89 said.
Even a Georgetown/Maryland lacrosse game I went to on a beautiful saturday afternoon didn't feel 'festive', and this was a pretty hyped up game between two top ten teams at the time.

real football fans don't complain about sunburns.
(haha, kidding. I'm just imitating those that are totally anti-dome. If you're anti-dome, you should be anti-shade too.)

"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

My vote is for Jacksonville's Milne Field:
oh poor Jacksonville They can't field much better then a club team can they? This gets my vote.

Actually I'd put JU in the Top 30-40 teams in the country this year. Amazing considering what they're working with.
I have to say Nicholls is the worst one I've been to. Got stuck in the elevator in the press box twice the one time I visited. UC-Davis stadium back in 04(might have the date wrong on that) was pretty bad but I think they were just using it until they built their new one.
MN, you were at the ODU @ JU game, right? Was it really as bad the pics? Atmosphere any good?
They had more stuff going on than at a county fair, and most of the people were gathered around things like the bounce house and the Bar Be Que stands that were placed in the shade of the tree line you see in the end zone. The stands are in direct sunlight, and there is almost no elevation on the visitor's side. Not to mention that it was so hot I thought the program was going to ignite. I think the only people who actually watched the whole game was us ODU folks.
That being said, the Jacksonville folks were nice to us, both before and after the game. But as a frienzied college game day atmosphere it just didn't have it.

FWIW, we didn't prepare for the Hens game properly last weekend and Mrs89 got the worst sunburn I've ever seen her get. You assume, October, no problem.

Also, JU might be the only school in the country where you can bring tents into the "stands:"
hold that thought sir. if its a hot sunny at weber on oct 23 i am going to bring in a canopy...or at least find out if i have no issues bringing it in. we average like 8,000 in a 18k capacity. there is room!
