HALFTIME:
Youngstown State: 24
Western Illinois: 14
YSU dominating time of possession 20:32 to 9:28 right now. In addition, YSU failed to scored on 4th and goal at the 1 in the 1st quarter. Kind of gives you an idea of things in Macomb right now.
YSU: 291 Yards - 21 first downs.
WIU: 176 Yards - 10 first downs.

Bullshit, NDSU haters think NDSU fans thought NDSU was an auto-bid. 2 losses before this weekend did not equal autobid. They have to win out which is not very likely.siuham wrote:NDSU was only an auto-bid candidate to NDSU fans and people outside the MVFC.
NDSU has been on the outside looking in for quite a some time now.
SDSU is proving they're better than their record, SIU is terrible right now.
Starting QB did not start because he decided to punch a bouncer at a bar last Saturday after the UNI game. Not that he played much better than our back-up. Play calling in the second half was atrocious. The best SIU play was the onside kick we recovered. It was perfection. SDSU owned that game after SIU's first drive ended.

Why does the mofo have to be a Bison fan, or even a faux Bison fan from another school.dgreenwell3 wrote:I like NDSU's team this season honestly just mostly MPLSBison makes me not want to like them...

I'll be in Fargo, but I'll be working a Sports Memorabilia Show at the Moorhead Courtyard - Marriott, Hwy 75 & I-94, just south of Willie's former school. Stop by and say hello if you have some time. We go from 10am to 5pm. Gametime is scheduled for 3pm.dgreenwell3 wrote:Hey Gil, I am gonna be at the ISU game at NDSU...looking forward to it!

Sounds like a plan Gil, would love to! I will have to say as a former plkayer it's odd to go to a game as a fan...I feel out of place and it raises my blood pressure watching my friends struggle at times...just thought I would throw it out there...

If it's the same room, I am usually the first booth, on the right side when you enter the show.dgreenwell3 wrote:Sounds like a plan Gil, would love to! I just wanted to repost my post from AGS about Sycamore fans and what should happen if somehow we make the playoffs..
LOl now granted we can't act like we are Ohio State here...We have won 3 games in a row and it makes all of us Indiana State fans really excited but let's be honest if this team somehow makes the playoffs lets hope this turns into a made for tv movie that stars LL Cool J as Trent Miles, just because he's bald...Matt Barr as Ronnie Fouch, and I mean this matt barr http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1204778/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and possibly as a crazy ISU people that want to get rid of the program...Keanu Reeves?????

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
YSU lead 38-34 with a little over 2 mins left. We were held on 3rd and 4. Punted it into the endzone so they got it on the 20. They went downfield on us with ease then scored on a touchdown pass where Senatus' foot sure did look out of bounds like the announcers said, but he somehow found his way into the endzone for a TD. On that same play, a flag was thrown that looked to be holding, but they waved it off.DJH wrote:what happened?
I am not saying we lost because of the officials, we lost because we have NO DEFENSE. Our offense is amazing, could not be stopped all night, but we have NO DEFENSE whatsoever. A lot of it can be contributed to youth, but at the same time these freshman and first year players have played in 7 games now, that is not an excuse anymore.

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
There is not much defense being played anywhere in the MVFC this year.
UNI has played well defensively for the most part. SIU and SDSU have played OK at times. But it sure seems like everyone else is giving up a lot of points this year.

I really thought our Defense would have played better than they did today...I still believe it will be our strength down the stretch...

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
SIU's defense played extremely well on occasion today. There were a handful of 3rd and Short stops made by the D-Line. Too bad our secondary has been run through by the injury bug, because once teams get past the front 4 or 5, there's not much to stop them.DJH wrote:There is not much defense being played anywhere in the MVFC this year.

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
I understand that, but if you actually have watched 6 out of the 7 YSU games I have seen this year, you will see three things:DJH wrote:There is not much defense being played anywhere in the MVFC this year.
UNI has played well defensively for the most part. SIU and SDSU have played OK at times. But it sure seems like everyone else is giving up a lot of points this year.
a) Terrible playcalling. We lost on a blitz to NDSU and we lost on another blitz to WIU tonight. We are blitzing at the worst possible times, leaving our secondary, filled with two true freshman and a JUCO sophomore vulnerable in one-on-one coverage.
b) Missed Tackles. There are so many missed tackles, dropped interceptions, and just poor overall individual performances down the stretch to win in this league.
c) No Luck. Up 17 at MSU, lost. Go up 1 on NDSU with under a minute left, lost. Go up 4 on WIU and proceed to lose it with 60 seconds left in the game.
I will say this, we may be 3-4, but we are not far from being 6-1. These losses will hopefully make our new staff get out there this offseason and bring some much needed transfers in on our defense.... Heard we may get a local one that was a 4 star headed to Nebraska... We'll see about that though.

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
Sounds like a team that is a year away in Youngstown, IMO.
We are going through the same type of thing here at UNI. We are still battling through the mistakes and still have a shot at making this season a good one, but we have had lots of mistakes this year and have been very up and down.
You will always see that with young teams though. Doesn't make it any less frustrating as a fan though.

Re: MVFC ClusterWTF
Yes, a year away indeed. I think most YSU fans, including me, thought we were going to turn it around right away. I think you are seeing signs that we are close to turning it around, but just not there yet. We beat SIU, lost at MSU by 10 after leading by 17, then lose in heartbreaking fashion to NDSU by 4 with 40 seconds left and WIU by 2 with 60 seconds left.DJH wrote:Sounds like a team that is a year away in Youngstown, IMO.

If we get our defense squared away, there is no doubt we are a contender to win the league next year. Our offense, as powerful as it is, is VERY young. Redshirt freshman at QB, starting running back is a sophomore, the other four are freshman. We got some nice young wide receivers following behind the senior Barnes as well.
YSU is a year away, these losses will be W's next year.

Richard White will be a 6th? year senior next year..along with Mike McElroy. A lot of freshmen are getting a whole lot of play time with all these injuries...Yeah, there's still a chance SIU can win the auto bid but I don't know if we'll get past this next road trip without a loss.
