The Bad: Portland State takes a one point lead.
The Good: Portland State left way too much time on the clock.
The Ugly: Montana's offense.

edit: Nguyen with a solid return to the 37. Fairly short field to get into field goal range. I'm still hardly 100% confident in McKnight but he's been pretty solid this year.

I don't what else they could have done. PSU started with over 8 minutes left & ran it every play.Big McLargehuge wrote: The Good: Portland State left way too much time on the clock.

Apparently the Griz need 2 timeouts in a row to figure out that they should hand it to Reynolds.

Two Montana timeouts in a row...very odd. Still one left, though.
45 seconds left and the ball at the 11 in the middle of the field...essential chip shot for McKnight right now. Portland State only has 1 time out left.

To lose about 2 yards as well...glorious.
McKnight is better from the right hash than the left but still...the ball was at midfield, rather silly to run a play like that if you ask me.
And the next play puts the ball right back in the middle.

I'd rather not see Roper throw it here.Big McLargehuge wrote:Mvemjsunpx wrote:Apparently the Griz need 2 timeouts in a row to figure out that they should hand it to Reynolds.

Maybe if UM had a power game, it would help.

In field goal range down by 1 you don't pass. Ever.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I'd rather not see Roper throw it here.Big McLargehuge wrote:

Let the clock run down and kick the ball. If McKnight can't get this one then he shouldn't be playing football. 3 seconds left and...

Griz at the 8. Will be a 26 yard attempt for the win, 3 seconds left after the timeout.

McKnight hits the short FG. Game over.
The Griz keep playing like crap on offense & special teams, but are somehow 5-2.

Chip shot is easy.
This game should have been settled long ago so its hard to get too excited, but great ending.
Still one of the worst football games I think I've ever seen.

L to 4-3 Cal Poly on the road.
L to 5-2 Eastern Washington on the road.
W against 2-4 Portland State on the last play of the game on the road.
Sheesh.

True, but that's only because the Weber/ISU game wasn't on TV.Big McLargehuge wrote:

Re: Montana at Portland State
As far as that second TO goes on that series I don't think Roper was calling a TO there. Guernsy said that is a hand gesture that Roper has been doing all year and also tonight and that Pflu & Roper were both telling the ref that it wasn't a TO call. It was not the first time in this game that Roper used the hand gesture either apparently. Looks like we might want to change that up if it's that close to a TO call.
