Nolan Ryan when asked how much it will cost to keep Lee. "Go across the hall and ask them. I think he got their attention tonight."

Re: ALCS
The price will be dictated by how much the second highest bidder is willing to pay. The Yankees will likely beat any offer, the question is how much can Lee's agent get another team to bid for Lee's services.UNHWildCats wrote:Nolan Ryan when asked how much it will cost to keep Lee. No. I don't think they're the team they were last season.BlueHen86 wrote:Oh I see. You're one of those fair weather fans.Willie wrote:I knew we'd destroy Minnesota. Did I think we'd win the ALCS? Not really. Still possible, but it won't break my heart if they don't.

As I see it, the Yanks HAVE to win 3 in a row at this point. They don't want to face Cliff Lee in Arlington for a Game 7.

I just heard on the radio that NY is still going to roll out AJ Burnett for Tuesday's game. Which is a better option for the Yanks: Throwing Burnett tonight and then having your three best pitchers on their normal rest or having their pitchers pitch on short rest for the rest of the series?

That's nothing. Philly fans booed Micheal Irvin over ten years ago.![]()
You'll know it's bad when they build a jail at the ballpark like they did in Phlly.

Must win situation for the Yankees. A loss now means they could lose in 5 or even face Cliffy again. Best scenario for the Rangers is to win in 6 and have Lee face the greatest team on God's green earth, championed by east coast bias, the one, the only, from the city of brotherly love (except Michael Irvin), the soon to be National League Champions, Philadelphia Phillies.

Yup, the Yanks can't afford to lose another game at this point - there's no way they beat Cliff Lee in a Game 7.bluehenbillk wrote:As I see it, the Yanks HAVE to win 3 in a row at this point. They don't want to face Cliff Lee in Arlington for a Game 7.

Personally, I think Girardi's job is on the line tonight with his decision to start Burnett. Texas has scored in the 1st inning in all 3 games, and Burnett gave up the most runs of any pitcher in the 1st during the season, by far.
