I googled it a while back, found quite a bit actually, I was surprised.

I will only be surprised if the DSM-IV fails to lean all the way left. Rememberthat the APA are the same knuckleheads who gave us false memory syndrome, innocent by reason of insanity, and a thousand other excuses for stupidity and evil.

The DSM-IV revised edition has been out for a while now.

It's a big improvement from the original, I thought.

It will be interesting to see the DSM-V though

In my dozen or so professional interactions with psychologists and social workers, MAYBE 2 or 3 of them exhibited somewhat professional behavior. The vast majority were extremely and shockingly uninformed and undisciplined. If I had been so sloppy as a professional pilot in the military, I would have l killed someone. If I had been so sloppy as a consultant in the private sector, I would have been immediately fired.

There are jobs/professions out there that would be very difficult to do depending on your world view.

I think a conservative would have a very hard time being a public school teacher, doing social work, or working for the EPA.

I think a lib would have a hard time working for a religious cause or for the chamber of commerce.

My personal views have nothing to do with how I view the social/community service field. My thoughts I've shared here are from the time I've spent, albeit a shorter time, in the field

I'm not sure if it was your intent or not but you appear to be referring to a guy referenced in the article as having done research in the past rather than the subject of the article who did the current research.

I saw that article the other day and was kind of surprised because it appears to be an admission that there is a strong egalitarian and/or "progressive" bias afflicting the psychological sciences. By that I mean they seem to be allowing that there is not a dispassionate, objective atmosphere. Instead, there is a philosophical bias towards wanting to believe that children raised by homosexuals are no more likely to be homosexual as a result.

Of course I have believed for a long time that the psychological sciences are strongly influenced by egalitarian bias.
