Suck it puss lips, here are some quotes from around the league.

1. Brian Urlacher

"It's freaking football. There are going to be big hits. I don't understand how they can do this after one weekend of hitting. And I can't understand how they can suspend us for it. I think it's a bunch of bull.

"You know what we should do? We should just put flags on everybody. Let's make it the NFFL - the National Flag Football League. It's unbelievable."

AND;

Steve Breaston

"Say it's third-and-15 and you go across the middle. As a defender, you try to dislodge that ball so he doesn't make the catch. Now, it's what, you let them catch it? You make the tackle, but they pick up the first down? I don't know."

AND;

Adrian Wilson

"It's really hard because you only have that split-second to determine what to do. It's crazy. I try my best to use clear judgment and make clear decisions, but a lot of those collisions are unavoidable. You're either going to let them catch it and take a step to see what's going on, or there's going to be a collision."

AND;

Antrel Rolle

"It's fine for the offensive players but I'm on the defensive side of the ball. So are you telling me that now I have to slow down? I think we're already being cautious of what we're doing and how we're attacking the ball or how we're trying to make a tackle. I think that's absolutely ridiculous because under any circumstances you can't just absolutely have control over your body when you're pursuing a tackle.

"This is the game of football. This is a game of speed. This is a game of power. This is a game of physical guys going to battle. Once you start saying to guys 'You'll get suspended for a game,' that's when you're going to get a very, very tentative football game."

AND CHECK OUT CLINTON PORTIS;

Clinton Portis

"As far as dude running the ball, or running with the ball, and somebody hit you helmet to helmet, I think you got an opportunity to go down. You got an opportunity to slide."

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdo ... nfl-278498

All the cunty pussy sportscasters, news criers, and fans who have never played the game should STFU over this ignorant shit, you are ruining the game.

There is your fuckin break wimpy! :nutkick:

And Todd Heap

"Ravens tight end Todd Heap took a hit from Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather that Heap called "one of those hits that shouldn't happen"".

AND:

Matthew Stafford

"I don't think there's really a whole lot of place in this game for helmet-to-helmet contact because of the size and speed of these players You have a lot of ex-players out there talking about, 'It's part of the game' and everything like that. But there are some guys out there now that weren't out there playing back in the day. There are a lot of guys getting seriously hurt. I don't know if I'm in favor of it or not because it's part of the game to hit guys hard. But I don't think there's much of a place for helmet-to-helmet contact."

AND:

Jim Harbaugh

"The thing we try to coach our players to do is basically hit in the strike zone. Try to make an effort to do that and keep your head out of it. It's not just the safety of your opponent, it's safety for yourself. When you throw your head in there, you put yourself at risk. It's just not good football."

AND;

Mike Tomlin

"I'm all for player safety. I think it is the proper initiative that the NFL has. I think we need to safeguard the men that play this game to the best of our abilities and make it as safe as we can."

What really cracks me up about this are all the players and former players who were complaining about the 18 game schedule because of more potential injuries and we should think of the players as human beings, not just pawns. Well, which is it? :roll:

If it's a malicious hit then hell hand out whatever punishment is appropriate. Take a look at the language on this thread from football fans already...it's accepted and now is going to go even further because that's the way football should be played I guess.

Fucking men become more feminine everyday in this country.

We probably ought to start watching out for MMA and boxing and make sure that there are no longer any head shots allowed. A punch in the chest or the shoulder is what would be allowed in the fucking females with penises and the females without penises get it all sorted out for us. :thumb:

Nobody is arguing that it doesn't happen 93. Boxers deal with the results of being knocked out as long as they are in the sport as well.

This is getting a lot of attention the last few years. It has always been there though. But since it's getting the attention as the cause du jour and it's becoming a sticking point in the general consciousness something has to be done to change the game.

Did you know that miners were more susceptible to the earth caving in on them? Movers are more susceptible to back injuries?

Don't think the fact the two loudest voices here are also fans of the team DeShawn Jackson plays for. The little girl didn't even hold on to the ball. You should be happy he's out. Bring back Hank Basket, he could hold on to it at least. :lol:

Well, if we would all turn in our guns, knives, razor blades, roller blades, skate boards, bicycles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet skis, boats, rafts, fishing hooks, kites, parasails, hand tools, chain saws, glass items, baseball bats, and drove around in big pink cars wearing helmets and body armor with the speed kept below 20 MPH, just think of all the injuries we could mandate out of everyday life.

As for the NFL and their faggy quarterback protection rules, I think the pink ballet skirts should be mandated.

Next thing, the lawyers will get involved with personal injury suits against the hard hitters. :rofl:

Things really looking up for the NFFL now..

UNI, I would suggest insisting that your players keep their heads up, and eyes open at all times when hitting. I used to think of the crosses of my facemask as the crosshairs of a scope, keeping the target in the middle of the crosshairs all the way to impact. Make 'em practice that way, make it a habit, and you will have no more strained necks and shoulders. :thumb:

this
of course not all facemasks have the singel cross bar going down the middle.

uni88 - it was pretty old for back the in the early 90's. It featured Marc Buoniconti and several other players who were paralyzed. I'll shoot the Towson coach an email. He was on those teams, I'm sure they still watch it or something like it.

Ok golf dude :rofl:

Now give me your softball/golf dudes opinion of this example: Large hard hitting running back goes ramming into the line trying to gain short yardage, either for a first down, or to score, what can the defender do;

A. Meet him head on in the hole
B. Turn his head and let the guy fuck him up
C. Simply get out of his way and let him go

If he did what most will do, A, then who gets fined/suspended, the running back who put his head down first, or the defender who made the contact and the stop? :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Easy.

1. The offensive player is not defenseless.
2. The intent of meeting him head on is to stop him, not to hurt him.

No penalty (the large thing you seem to keep missing) therefore no fine or suspension. Next.
