I was a fan of Barbara Boxer long before I was her colleague.
Here's a tough-as-nails progressive champion who takes on the really tough fights--the ones that matter. Her work matters to women who care about reproductive rights and equal access to health care, it matters to working families who need good jobs, and it matters to all of us who care about our energy future.
Now she's facing a tough fight of her own, against failed CEO Carly Fiorina. You'd think that "failed CEO" wouldn't be a great platform from which to run for the Senate, but Fiorina has a ton of money and is spending it with abandon. Plus, the usual gang of right-wing groups are bombarding Californians with attacks.
Will you help me help Barbara fight back by making a contribution of $10, $20, or $50 today?
I can't imagine what it would be like to come to work in a Senate without Barbara Boxer. If you think it was hard to get climate change to the forefront of our agenda before, it could be nearly impossible without her leadership. She's fought so hard to spur the Senate to action on this issue, and I know we're going to need her voice going forward.
After all, on issue after issue after issue, Barbara's been there from the start. She wrote one of the first bills to crack down on HMOs and enact a Patients' Bill of Rights. She wrote the first law to authorize funding for after-school programs. She sponsored the Violence Against Women Act.
This is exactly the kind of Senator we need more of if we're going to keep tackling the big issues in Washington. And her campaign is exactly the kind of fight we need to show up for if we're going to keep moving forward.
This race is coming down to the wire, and Barbara needs our help. Please join me in supporting this progressive champion by making a contribution today!
If we don't step up, Barbara's wealthy opponent and her special interest friends could dominate the critical last days of the race. We can't afford to let that happen. We can't afford to lose Barbara Boxer. So please join me in standing with her today.
Thanks,
Al Franken

I am sure as fvck not voting for Boxer. Things are pretty shitty for a lot of people right now and she is part of the reason for that.

My favorite commercial is the clip where it shows Boxer berating that military officer during a congressional hearing about how she “worked hard to gain her ‘Senator’ title” and to not call her ma’am. What a cunt. This guy and his fellow soldiers are protecting her and everyone else’s freedom and she pulls that shit. I don’t know how anyone can respect her after that.

Babs has had a magical career in which she has blunted oligarchical and aristocratic Conk attacks on the little guy for decades. Talk about a candidate for Rushmore.....
So refined, so statesmanlike......she's female and has power and money. As with Obama, you Conk Klansmen hate her for it.

"Fvck you, T-man. Don't think I don't see you there in Sac City, taking down my yard signs!"

Who needs Dictionary.com when you can just plagiarize off your fellow Conks???

Other than her votes on civil rights, she is not different than a Republican.

Maybe if the Conservatives throw the Marxists out of office they can start some investigations on this gang in power.

Just when you thought California's dwarf Marxist Senator couldn't be more radical, we discover just a little bit more about the true Barbara Boxer.
"On October 12, Scott Swett at the American Thinker reported that Senator Barabara Boxer (D-CA) along with Representatives Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Henry Waxman (D-CA) secured diplomatic courtesy letters that allowed anti-American Code Pink activists to travel to Fallujah, Iraq.
The radicals traveled to Fallujah in late 2004 to donate $600,000 worth of humanitarian aid to the people who had just killed 51 Americans and wounded 560 more earlier that month. Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah was the heaviest US urban combat since the Vietnam War."
No wonder Senator Ma'am showed such disdain for Brigadier General Michael Walsh. She really does despise the troops.

Jon, I'd happily accept a trade of O'Donnell -- who is toast anyway, and is simply not up to the job -- for "Brooklyn Barb" Boxer! And I just don't get how you equate Boxer's chrome-plated liberal voting record with that of any Republican in the Senate. Including Snowe and Collins.Rob Iola wrote:You're worried about O'Donnell winning?dbackjon wrote:Other than her votes on civil rights, she is not different than a Republican.

Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein have GOT to go. They make Bill Clinton look almost Republican by comparison.

Feinstein is getting old and I don’t think she will last more than one more term. This is the only chance CA has a kicking the career politician Boxer out of office. If she survives the midterm, she will be a senator until she retires. Pelosi will go away (or at least not be seen on TV as much) if the Repubs can win the House, other than that the fine citizens of SF will never vote her out.SuperHornet wrote:Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein have GOT to go.
