I'll assume these refer to women's basketball because many of those schools have very unsuccessful volleyball programs.

1. This is the hoops forum.CitadelGrad wrote:I'll assume these refer to women's basketball because many of those schools have very unsuccessful volleyball programs.
2. Tennessee at the top is not surprising given the presence of Pat Summitt, the one of the two best coaches in hoops history, either gender.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Who's the other? And don't say Sherri Murrell…SuperHornet wrote:2. Tennessee at the top is not surprising given the presence of Pat Summitt, the one of the two best coaches in hoops history, either gender.

OK. No Goddess?
I'll posit Bob Thomason.

Re: Women's Home Court Advantage Rankings
Speaking of Murrell, the Portland Monthly magazine just came out with a good story on her, front page feature, as the only openly gay coach is D-I basketball. Very good story: http://www.portlandmonthlymag.com/arts- ... ball-1110/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
She's been making quite a splash up here. Remains to be seen how she'll do this year with Faucher gone. We do have a pretty good point guard sophomore coming in - she red-shirted last year. It'll be a challenge.

But if that big Baylor chick had only made her free throws last night, the UConn number would be lower!

I guess I don't understand these rankings. How can UConn be 255-17 in their arena, but not have their city ranked?

Because they played in a different arena prior to 1990.89Hen wrote:I guess I don't understand these rankings. How can UConn be 255-17 in their arena, but not have their city ranked?

I don't know if they sucked, but they weren't as good. They were lousy before Auriemma was hired in 1985, then they were pretty good (but not great) in the late '80s.89Hen wrote:But am I to understand that they sucked before moving into the current arena?Mvemjsunpx wrote:
