I realize the whole premise of this list is no one nationally, and the home cities would miss them, but St. Louis would be missed.

They also have a TON of fan support in St. Louis. In the city of St. Louis the sports allegiances go:
1. Cards

2. Blues

3. Rams

That's cuz I actually watch hockey and know all the teams, so I'm intentionally skewing the viewpoint here! ;) I'm just adding fuel to the fire by naming teams that not many people care about. 8-)

But fureal...the Blues have always been on the radar as long as I've been watching hockey (20 years or so). Maybe they aren't one of the originals or big boys, but they've always been there in my eyes. All these newbies are the ones that I forget about every once in a while.

Blues could statistically be the worst team in the NHL. 43 years, 7 division titles but 2 of those came when they lumped the 6 expansion teams together in the 60's. Haven't been to the Cup also since the expansion teams were put together to ensure one of them would make it.

Think of the players that the Blues have had at different times just since 90... Gretzky, Hull, Shanahan, Pronger, Joseph, Guerin, Gilmour... they've made it to the conference finals twice since 1970. :shock:

How is that any different than the Cubs...yet no one is saying that they should be contracted or that no one would miss them

I'm not talking about the stats. I couldn't care less about the stats. They are simply a team I am more familiar with than some of those newbies I mentioned; they're always a team I think of whenever the topic of conversation comes around to 'name as many NHL teams as you can in 15 seconds'. Which happens ALOT, I tell you...just yesterday when I was changing my son's diaper, in fact.

I guess it's the difference between being the lovable losers and just plain old losers. ;)

10. Minnesota Timberwolves
9. St. Louis Rams
8. Memphis Grizzlies
7. Atlanta Thrashers
6. Jacksonville Jaguars
5. Los Angeles Clippers
4. Tampa Bay Rays
3. Toronto Raptors
2. Florida Panthers
1. Phoenix Coyotes

Each of these teams would definitely not be missed but they shouldn't be contracted/disbanded, just simply moved.

Jags, Rams -> Los Angeles
Rays -> Charlotte, NC
Raptors -> Baltimore
Grizzlies -> Seattle
Clippers -> San Diego
Panthers -> Cleveland
Thrashers -> Cincinnati
Timberwolves -> St. Louis
Coyotes -> Salt Lake City, UT
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.

Timerwolves are going to be noticed this year. They are deeper, taller, faster and better shooting this year. The players, except for Flynn, all fit into Coach Rambis coaching scheme. I seem them around .500 this year.

In 1959 the Chicago Cardinals played 2 home games in Minnesota and decided to move to St Louis. Minnesota got the Vikings as an expansion team and have been to 4 Super Bowls. The Cardinals eventually left St Louis.

The original St Louis Hawks are now in Atlanta.

The St Louis Browns are now in Baltimore (Orioles)

Two NBA teams in Seattle?
Two NFL teams in Cleveland? And sorry to say, support for the Browns is not waning, even though they suck.
LA hasn't really supported a football team very well before...how would they support two?
Not sure if B'more would support basketball.

Think he means Florida Panthers, and Seattle Sonics moved to Oklahoma already.

Disregard those statements DSU!

:lol: I COMPLETLY forgot about the Florida Panthers. 89, add that to my list of forgotten teams! :lol:

NBA...haven't followed it that closely in years. I thought Oklahoma was a startup team? Or they moved from Charlotte? :oops: Actually, I'm not embarassed that I don't know that, cuz I really don't care. :)

I subscribe to the argument that if you can support an NFL and a MLB team in your city. You have the ability to support an NBA/NHL team as well.

Plus as an NBA fan, an Atlantic Division comprising of the entire Northeast corridor would be pretty awesome.

Boston Celtics
New York Knicks
New Jersey (Brooklyn) Nets
Philadelphia 76ers
Toronto (Baltimore) Raptors

Also that Carolina should be the southern most team in the NHL.

LA having two teams (one NFC, one AFC) can guarantee a game in LA every week of the NFL season.
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.

Why should the Rams move back to LA? They didn't win a Super Bowl until they moved to StL.

The Clippers spent 6 years in San Diego, why would they move back?

Exactly. I was going to say it's been tried, and it didn't work. SD is just not a basketball town. Add that to the Lake Show being an hour and a half away and there is no way an NBA franchise would make it here.

I was into the NHL for a bit then they had the lockout and I havn't gave a rats ass since. The playoffs would be a lot more meaningful if half the teams didn't get a berth, that goes for the NBA too. :thumbdown:
