Weber State at Montana State
Weber State is an enigma: on paper, they don't look very good. Higgins throws too many picks and the defense is suspect, but they win games when they're not supposed to and they keep hangin' in there. Credit the coaching staff for the preparation. Montana State, on the other hand, looks very good and has turned it up a notch down the stretch. McGhee has replaced NAU 's Michael Herrick as the best QB in the Conference and they're operating on all cylinders right now. They certainly get the nod over WSU at home.

Idaho State at Georgia
Strictly a "money game" for Idaho State and a great trip for the players and coaches to a SEC venue. Unfortunately, the Bengals are not on vacation and Georgia's frustration on a poor season is going to rain down on Idaho State. Too much quickness, size and strength on the part of the Bulldogs. In fact, Ugga, the mascot, might even play in this one. Let's hope no Idaho State player gets hurt. Give the Bengals credit, but make sure you pray for their safety.

Northern Arizona at Northern Colorado
It sure looks like the Lumberjacks are in their annual nose-dive. They should be the favorite here but history tells us otherwise. NAU's Michael Herrick has had a frustrating year with little or no help at receiver and he is trying to play with a hand injury, as well. If the Jack defense can hold the Northern Colorado offense to 14 points or less, the Jacks could win. The weather in Greeley should not be a factor; give the Jacks a little advantage and they squeeze out a close victory to calm their coaches' critics - at least for this week.

Portland State at Sacramento State
The smallest team in the Conference, Sac State, looked impressive spanking NAU in Flagstaff last week. Sac State QB Fleming looked like Peyton Manning in torching the Jack secondary. The Viking running game (Hilliard) was basically held in check, but they weren't needed as the Vikings rolled up 40 points. Portland State, with issues at QB, could be in for a long day. They better hope for the Sac State "hangover" from the NAU game and to not turn the ball over. The home team wins this one.

i wouldn't call beating UNC and ISU by a combined 5 points while turning the ball over 7 times "operating on all cylinders." i certainly don't think the cats are bad, but they have a few things to shore up if they're planning on making a run in the playoffs.

ps..higgins may get a shot to look like the higgins of old vs MSU staggering secondary. we'll see.

Griz are off this week. Obviously so are their fans. Combine that with EWU off and it's a wonder anyone is paying attention to us, so any print is good. I'm entering the weekend at 41-8, which is short of where I want to be. I desperately need a perfect week and maybe this is the week for it. Four games, three in conference and ISU steps out of conference. Here are my predictions. All are my opinion only and all open for discussion.

ISU @ Georgia---Last week, the Bengals turned some heads in staying close to Montana State and maybe should have pulled it out. However, like last year's game against Montana, big disappointment for the Bengals and they watched the Bobcats steal the victory. The old saying, there's another game next week. However, if they stay close this week, they not only would turn more heads in the conference, but nationally as well as they head on the road to SEC country and face Georgia. Last week Georgia played Florida, you know, Tebow's old team...Georgia 52, ISU 7.

NAU @ UNC---Last year, the Jacks lost their last four games. The year before that, they lost their last four games. Because of that, many people across the conference would say they saw the beatdown against Sacramento State coming for the Jacks as that was the first game of the Jacks's last four (did that make sense). Whatever it was, it was still perplexing that a team that was playing so well looked so terrible. They head on the road to play the Bears, who looked equally as bad in their game against South Dakota. The last time the Jacks went to Greeley it was a dogfight. This year, who knows...NAU 28, UNC 24.

PSU @ Sac State---Midweek and still one could say the Hornets performance last week at Northern Arizona was amazing. Still people around the team will say they had that type of performance coming and really they did have it in them. Now they head back home and face a Viking team that basically mailed it in against Eastern Washington on both sides of the ball. It is sad because it is the first time Nigel Burton returns home as a head coach...Sac State 38, PSU 17.

WSU @ MSU---The Wildcats now have the attention of the conference after their impressive win at home last week against Montana. The all out team effort was enough for an idea for the Wildcats to salvage the season and start to make some noise. They head up the road to face the Bobcats, who have kind of resorted to sleepwalking recently. This was clearly the case last week as Idaho State took them to overtime before finally succumbing. The question, are the Bobcats asleep or are they just playing to the level of their opponent? If it is the latter, this could be a great game...MSU 26, WSU 24.

I don't see Mark Richt running it up that high. He'll likely shut it down at about 50-something. Maybe even 40-something.

That says NOTHING about what UGA is CAPABLE of putting up on ISU. If Richt were to turn them loose, we could be looking at triple digits.

Spot on with the NAU-UNC game. Solid with the ISU UGA game as well, though mine was closer (54-7).

3-1 on the week, as my wishful thinking/hail mary to catch up to Jalmond didn't work out for a full 4 quarters. Puts me at 42-11 on the year.

All of us who post these predictions regularly, we should work out something that you get an extra point if you have the correct score (with the correct team winning, of course). Great job.

For as difficult as it is to predict a score (not necessarily the winner but the score) of the Big Sky against the BCS, surprising how many of us were right around the Georgia/ISU score.

Thanks. Although I was right in who I thought would score ISU's TD (Tavoy Moore), I was wrong in how. Thought for sure the only way the Bengals scored would be on a kickoff return.
