That's an obscene exaggeration, and you know it.

So, it's all based on conjecture. Gotcha.
So you're cool with this scenario? Gotcha. Perhaps Montana could send a team into Dancing with the Stars. It's a popular show, you know.....

Sure. But they won't. And besides, DWTS already has a playoff system.

This is too bad. I was looking forward to the idea of being in the same conference as Montana. Y'all have a lot of class fans and I would have loved to take a trip there one day to watch a game.

AZ are you being serious? I thought you were against the move due to the weakness of the new WAC. But I've been MIA around here lately so what do I know.

Not really. In the last ten years, the only times I can recall us being an underdog to an FCS team were JMU in the semis, and MAYBE McNeese in 2002.

Because we'll have more guys. I feel safe in calling our very high number of players from the 07-09 teams that made a pros a lucky anomaly/perfect storm of high in-state talent and solid player development. As an FBS team, having this many guys making an impact would be the norm, not the exception. And I don't care about perception, and whether people think they played at a lesser school. I just want to see them play at the next level.
How many NFL players does Boise, Wyoming, Idaho have compared to Montana?
More, usually (although not at the moment, because we're awesome). Boise and Idaho and Fresno State just put out first rounders last year in fact

Montana
PLAYER TEAM POSITION
Colt Anderson Philadelphia Eagles Safety
Kroy Biermann Atlanta Falcons Defensive End
Dan Carpenter Miami Dolphins Place kicker
Tuff Harris Pittsburgh Steelers Safety
Lex Hilliard Miami Dolphins Running Back
Marc Mariani Tennessee Titans Wide Receiver
Cory Procter Miami Dolphins Guard
Shann Schillinger Atlanta Falcons Safety

Boise State
PLAYER TEAM POSITION
Chris Carr Baltimore Ravens Cornerback
Ryan Clady Denver Broncos Offensive Tackle
Daryn Colledge Green Bay Packers Guard
Korey Hall Green Bay Packers Fullback
Quintin Mikell Philadelphia Eagles Safety
Legedu Naanee San Diego Chargers Wide Receiver
Orlando Scandrick Dallas Cowboys Cornerback
Kyle Wilson New York Jets Cornerback

Idaho
PLAYER TEAM POSITION
Mike Iupati San Francisco 49ers Guard
Max Komar Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver
Jake Scott Tennessee Titans Guard
David Vobora St. Louis Rams Linebacker

Wyoming
PLAYER TEAM POSITION
Malcom Floyd San Diego Chargers Wide Receiver
Adam Goldberg St. Louis Rams Offensive Tackle
Derrick Martin Green Bay Packers Safety
Devin Moore Indianapolis Colts Running Back
John Wendling Detroit Lions Safety

Unless you're Delaware who apparently have Satan on their side as far as attracting NFL-quality QB transfers, there is a direct correlation between the division/sub-division you're in, and the amount of NFL players you develop. In fact let's do a better comparison, of the dregs of the BSC vs WAC, and the top of the BSC vs WAC

Top programs:
Fresno St - 17
Hawaii - 12
Boise St - 8

Montana - 8
Montana State - 2
Eastern Washington - 1

Bottom programs:
San Jose St - 7
Idaho - 4
New Mexico St - 2

Northern Colorado - 3
Idaho State - 2
Sac State - 1

When's the last time a losing record or .500 record got an at-large? When's the last time an at-large team won the NC? & when's the last time somebody not in the BCS won an FBS NC? And how many times have there been multiple claims on the FBS NC? & how many controversies regarding NC have erupted in FCS?

I've been on the fence on this issue from the start (generally on the move-up side of the fence in general, but the WAC's weakness has pushed it to being a slight siding) but now that we have the answer I'm pissed. More for the reasoning than anything else.

Cat-Griz is huge and its important...but we're sacrificing for them. I am not okay with holding ourselves back for them.

To say nothing about the hilariousness of North Dakota being some grand step forward for the Big Sky or the sheer lack of brass to say that we may not be able to compete with WAC teams across the board.

If they came out and said we're not going to go because we don't believe we can financially support the move to be at the level that we want to be at...then fine, I could accept that. But those three ratings...horrible.

Sure there is, but you conference winners have a guaranteed seat at the table. And I'd support a move up by App if all FBS conferences had a shot at a playoff...that's all I'm asking for...without it, it's a beauty contest for SEC, Big 10, Big 12 & Pac 10. ACC & Big East are window dressing. MWC, Wac & the rest might as well drop back to FCS. If NCAA would create a playoff for conf winners then I'd see the benefit of moving up....it's that simple.

Me too....you don't make the choice because of your rival. You make the choice because you can compete on a level playing field with equal opportunity to win the prize. If you're not going to be given a chance then why do it at all....

One could argue that the Big Sky has barely been a level playing field for 15 years. And the opportunity to win the FCS prize in reality has resided within 4 conferences since the early '90s

One could also make the argument that those same four conferences had to defeat teams from other conferences for that chance....a claim the current FBS/BCS abortion cannot make....
