These are just the EPA regs facing the electric industry. Imagine what it would look like if we added all the other industries.

What's best for the middle class (especially when unemployment is knocking on 10%) is not raising taxes on those evil, disgusting "rich" people. You know, the ones who actually create jobs in this country.

It goes both ways: I pay more taxes than my brother - who has dozens of houses in the Seattle Market and 4 automobiles a half dozen company vehicles and on and on and on...

He makes more money in a week than I make in a year...

I pay more taxes than he does  Baldy, sometimes you're just wrong
When you say you more more taxes than him, is that just federal income tax or all taxes? Just curious.

He doesn't pay any Federal Income Tax because he doesn't show any income
Actually I believe he has his personal income set at $55K (what a sham)

The rest of it is all loop holes - smoke and mirrors - and snazzy corporate dodging...

Is he doing something illegal? Something you yourself couldn't do?

Cleets said he has "dozens" of houses so my guess is he is a landlord.

Yeah... nice try baldness
He thinks it's a sham and a bunch of horse sh!t too
But like every American that's robbing the system blind - those loop holes were put in place for a reason and his team of greedy lawyers loves it - he's just like welfare cases and free loaders you guys always pin-point as the primary problem... but the problem is on both sides of that coin... Nobody steals more and freeloads more than the Elite Wealthy - and you know what - I've known quite a few of them that don't pretend it's not just what it is

Funny thing is: they don't have to, they have a whole team of apologists defending them (like you)

But don't confuse me with somebody who cares - I'm just NOT going to pretend its anything other than what it is...
I benefit from it greatly - but it would be nice if we could all just be honest about it and stop tagging the poor as "the real problem" when there are problems with the wealthy too... there's a whole bunch of stealing going on

Our good friend Cleets (who BTW MUST come to a GSU game in the future), without even trying to, has illustrated why the FairTax is the only just and equitable fix for our broken system of taxation.

The only thing I would ask is this: Is Cleets' brother supplying others jobs while doing his accounting smoke and mirrors? Because if he is, he is being taxed on his portion of the social security tax as well as whatever state taxes they may have.

I'm calling bullshit. If he "thinks its a sham" and "a bunch of horseshit" why doesn' the direct his attorneys to stop taking advantage of the tax code?

For the very same reason 99.9% of people take advantage of whatever opportunity is afforded to them.
IF you're going to get off on murder charges due to a technicality - I imagine you're okay with that...

If the loop holes exist (and they do in droves) as much as he understands and admits they're ridiculous he accepts them and utilizes them to their maximum benefit

My Point:
There are plenty of slacker - free loaders - robbing the system... and they're not just the poor and they're not just based around social programs run amok. We need to recognize a bad deal for America in whatever form it takes - be it a tax loop hole for the wealthy or over extended benefit programs - they both have a devastating effect

Fair tax would obviously HELP (as Baldy pointed out)

Nice red herring, chizzy.

His individual situation (and the number of other "rich" who take advantage of the system  ) doesn't change the facts:
The latest data show that a big portion of the federal income tax burden is shouldered by a small group of the very richest Americans. The wealthiest 1 percent of the population earn 19 percent of the income but pay 37 percent of the income tax. The top 10 percent pay 68 percent of the tab. Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent—those below the median income level—now earn 13 percent of the income but pay just 3 percent of the taxes. These are proportions of the income tax alone and don’t include payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.

Do you even read my posts...?
You don't do you

Nowhere am I suggesting that registered incomes are not taxed appropriately (please re-read my posts)
The trick is to show virtually no income or a dramatically reduced income
Where you need to look for the fly in the ointment is in corporate taxes my friend - not income taxes

You either don't get it... or just don't read my posts
Citizens get the living sh!t taxed out of them - as is noted in your posted article - thank you

Z's point is still valid, cleets. Your brother's deductions imply that he is spreading himself thin to put his capital to productive use in the economy. He already IS taxed appropriately.
