Well, the White House is playing it off that Obama was at a base in Korea and honoring KOREAN (?!?) vets and Biden was at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, doing Obama's job for him.

Yup.

Sorry Dana, but the POTUS job is to be at G-20, etc meetings.

To get worked up over this is moronic.

It’s pretty hard to convince other countries to oppose Chinese monetary devaluation when we are devaluating the dollar with endless Fed spending.

The failure to get a trade deal with SK is pretty sad. They are a supposed close ally in SE Asia. He should have threatened to pull our troops out of there if they were unwilling to at least agree to something to save face. :twocents:

Good. If they don't want us there we should leave. Same with any country we occupy. Let those folks defend themselves and not at our expense. :twocents:

Some would, some wouldn't. My guess is the S. Korean army would attack the north as they were preparing to do when Carter started pulling our troops out in '76.

Anyway, the hookers in Yong Son would be very unhappy. No more big American dick. Korea man he have little dick and he no got no money.

Having spent some time there in '96 and again in '98, it was the RARE South Korean who wanted US troops in-country on a permanent basis. :coffee: :coffee:

POTUS is big enough in the world (or SHOULD be) to ensure that the scheduling of ANY summits don't conflict with something this important. Obama's a dummy.

I disagree. The rest of the world isn't going to kiss our ass, we have to accept the fact that sometimes there will be scheduling conflicts.

This is a stupid issue for people to get worked up over. Some people just want to hate Obama; if Obama had blown off the Summit in favor of the observing Veterans Day the same people complaining about this would instead complain that he should have gone to the summit.

It's crazy how the libs were all over Bush for his entire presidency but try to shut everyone else up about Obama's stupidity. "We won. Shut up!"

Are you responding to me? I didn't vote for Obama and I am no fan of his policies. I think there are plenty of legitimate things to complain about, health care, spending etc. But it seems that some people want to hold him to an impossible standard. Oh My God!!! He went to an economic summit with the rest of the worlds leaders - impeach him.

You're right, Hen. But we can't even complain about that without the libs throwing a hissy fit. By THEIR definitions, if you didn't vote for Obama, you're a racist even if you voted for another African American.

Yes you can. Complain about the important stuff, stay on topic and don't get bogged down in trivialities. Arguing about whether or not Obama should go to an economic summit or Veterans Day ceremonies solves nothing.

The issue isn't whether or not Obama should have gone. The thing was scheduled, and was of such a level as to require the presence of our head of state. This issue is that his big head believes that he has pull with world leaders; if his pull is of the level he believes it is, he should have used that influence to get the summit scheduled for a time that didn't compete with national events scheduled years ago that are important to our national character. He didn't do that, and he failed spectacularly with the stuff he set out to do at the summit. Obama's as big or even a bigger failure a president as he would have people believe Bush was. That's what we get for electing someone with no executive experience.

I suppose though its ok that Bush spent Veteran's Day 2007 on vacation in Texas....

Of course these same idiots attacked Obama for being in Chicago for Memorial Day... yet seem to be ok that Bush I spent Memorial Day 1992 on vacation in Maine and in 1983 Reagan was at a G7 summit for Memorial Day.

It's also worth pointing out that Bush never visited Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery which is where most of the burials for those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan are. Obama visited last Veterans Day where he talked with loved ones of a fallen soldier..
TJ's brothers Stephen and Matthew were visiting his grave at Arlington on Veterans Day last year when Mr. Obama stopped to pay his respects. He asked about their loved one and expressed his appreciation for the sacrifice.

Responding to e-mailed questions last week, Mrs. Barbieri told me the family was grateful that the president "took the time to honor the memory and sacrifice of TJ, along with those of all of the others laid to rest alongside our son."

I have plenty of more important reasons to dislike Obama.

This is just a case of him quacking like a duck, that's all. It should not really come as a surprise to anyone.

The President is supposed to show some modicum of gratitude for the Armed Services who are willing to give their lives to promote the President's military agenda.

Obama is a fucking piece of shit who has shown he not only has utter contempt for our military, but no fucking spine as a MAN.
