App State is not going to beat UF. There is a considerable talent discrepancy between SEC players and those in D 1-AA.
I'll be rooting for App simply because I live in central FL and get first hand evidence on a daily basis of the pure classlessness of everything Gator.
However, this is a bad matchup for App. Florida can run the ball fairly well and their pass defense is stout. App will be in trouble and this will be a three score plus win for the hated Gators.
Florida can be had and ASU needs to go for it. This is a very mediocre UF squad and there is way no that they are going to be mentally ready to play next week vs ASU.

First, Chickenman has an excellent sig. It took me about 5 minutes to start typing this post because of it.
Second, App's run defense this season has been a bright spot - probably the best we've had in 3 or 4 years. Florida isn't Wofford or GSU, but I don't think they can run for 350, either. I'm certainly not predicting an App win, but I don't think we'll get blown out and shut out, either. It'll be close for a few quarters before Florida's depth and size takes over.
App has never traveled to a game where they didn't play to win. At the last 2 LSU games both teams starting pulling starters late in the 3rd quarter after the game was decided. How many of ASU's starters would start for the Gators?? Probably only 2-4 but that doesn't mean they can't compete. If ASU can slow down Demps and Rainey and the running game they have a chance to keep it close as
UF's passing game is rather suspect.
Can't wait to go to the Swamp. Maybe if the Apps get off to a fast start the crowd will turn on them and become a positive rather than negative factor for the Apps.
App will go the Swamp with the mindset that they can win. Let's face it, this Florida team isn't near what it's been in previous years. They are pretty suspect across the board, but they have some speed and quality depth. App played it's best game of the year yesterday, Florida looked terrible last night against USC. App has to come out and punch Florida in the mouth like they did against Michigan, if they do it could get really interesting. If App doesn't it will turn out like the LSU game in 2008 and it will be over by halftime and Jerry will pull the starters. I'd imagine Jerry and his staff will be on the phone with Shawn Elliot (former ASU coach who is in his first year as South Carolina's offense line coach) this week and some advice will be passed along. Either way App has put itself in a good position for a deep playoff run.

After this game there may be more cries to fire the DC than the OC. App. State will be able to move the ball on Florida, but won't be able to stop them.
What's the gameplan here? Rest the starters or try to get the win and sow up the #1 overall seed?
Why is this even a question for a school that has already taken out a Big Eleven?
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

It's a valid question since there is no advantage in being #1 over #2 seed and the NC is played at a neutral site. Both the #1 & #2 seeds get 3 home games if they win out. Even a UD win and a loss to Florida does not change Apps seeding at #2. I don't see a 9-2 EWU or a 10-1 J'ville State overtaking a 9-2 App in the seeding.
And a game played to start the season in 2007 has nothing to do with a season ending game in 2010 against a different opponent.
App should play the game and remember they have a weeks rest anyway. If they are losing I pull keys guys quick, but play the game. Three weeks rest is called rust.

Just say, "No."
Hell man if a non-playoff SDSU can hold Nebraska to the lowest amount of pts they have had all year for their homecoming then APP for damn sure has a chance to win in the Swamp.
