NFL MVP So Far

Post by Gil Dobie »

Is it a dominating pass rusher like Clay Mathews with 10.5 sacks, or a Michael Vick with a NFL leading Passer rating of 115.1, and has the Eagles rated as one of the best teams in the league or a steady Eddie like Adrian Peterson, Tom Brady or Roddy White? As a Packer fan I'm going with the homer pick, Mathews at this point.

Barring injury or complete collapse, Vick probably takes it. Monday night was a signature moment that will stick in the minds of the voters.

Vick, hands down, so long as he doesn't get injured again. Shit, he only has to play half as well as he did on Monday night and he'd still be in the running. I don't care about the season stats either compared to other QBs so far...anyone who has watched him play this season knows that he is just playing on a higher level than everyone else.

Devon Hester is on the cusp, about two more of those game stopping returns and getting the Bears in the POs, look out!

Matthews certainly is in the running along with Vick and Brady... If Vick were to win it though... he has one Clay Matthews to thank for taking out Kevin Kolb in the season opener which got Vick on the field.

24 receptions for 243 yards and 0 TDs, 2 KR for 100 yards and 0 TD and 20 PR for 339 yards and 2 TD does not put someone in an MVP conversation mid season.
