The Field
Assuming SFA holds on and gets the Southland auto and Richmond dont rally. these teams are definitely in. Thats 20 None of the remaining eligible teams can make a argument over these teams... The committee should have an easier time of it then usual.

Re: The Field
The MEAC does not deserve an at-large. It'd be a travesty if the conference was given one. I say that SC State is out. The WHOLE conference had ONE out-of-conference win against an FCS team, and that FCS team was MVSU which is 0-10.

perhaps... I just dont think any of the other eligible teams are more deserving. They do have more than 1 OOC win against an FCS opp. too, so your stat is inaccurate.∞∞∞ wrote:The MEAC does not deserve an at-large. It'd be a travesty if the conference was given one. Re: The Field
6-4 NDSU over 7-3 Liberty? Presuming Liberty holds on.
Edit: Guess my thought was moot. They both have an FBS win so NDSU does have the 7 D1 wins.

Re: The Field
I would find it pretty incredible if this year's MVFC put 3 teams in the field.

Re: The Field
Yeah I forgot about their FBS win. But Liberty has one too, so it's 7-4 vs 8-3 but the Big South is looked down upon and everyone assumes NDSU is great.UNHWildCats wrote:7-4 North Dakota State.siuham wrote:6-4 NDSU over 7-3 Liberty? Presuming Liberty holds on.
Re: The Field
I just looked through every team's schedule. Which are the other teams? SSU and NCCU, both which are transitioning MEAC teams (both wear the MEAC patch). I might be wrong, but I don't wanna look again so I may have missed it, but what are the other FCS teams they beat?UNHWildCats wrote:perhaps... Re: The Field
Liberty has an FBS win and is from a better conference than the MEAC. SCSU lost to BCU, who's ranked very low in the computers, BCU lost to FAMU, FAMU lost to SCSU.
None of them are good enough because they lost to each other. Yes, LU lost to Coastal (a Playoff team) RMU (a Playoff team) and JMU (best non-playoff team).
LU's FBS win and all D1 schedule will help. I'm not 100% convinced, but I feel like the MEAC SHOULDN'T get an AL over us, especially considering the competition.

Savannah State isnt part of the conference yet for cheduling and standings, so they are an OOC opponent.∞∞∞ wrote:I just looked through every team's schedule. Which are the other teams? And LU beat them as well. That's a huge stretch to call them a true OOC opponent.UNHWildCats wrote:Savannah State isnt part of the conference yet for cheduling and standings, so they are an OOC opponent.∞∞∞ wrote: I just looked through every team's schedule. But even if you want to. That means the OOC teams the MEAC beat have been Mississippi Valley State (0-10) and Savannah State (1-10)

Re: The Field
I agree with you about the field. I too believe that's what the committee will select tomorrow morning.
Having said that, I have no clue why the MEAC is getting two bids. According to the Sagarins, the MEAC is at the absolute bottom (yes, below the PFL) of the conference ratings: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbc10.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Without their high preseason poll ranking, South Carolina State would not be as seriously considered as they are now.
And as I type this, the MEAC auto-bid just lost to a Florida A&M team that need OT to squeak by a 1-10 North Carolina A&T team a fortnight ago. Unreal.

Re: The Field
Well then, congratulations to the MEAC...they can collectively as a conference beat one winless FCS opponent, and two transitioning MEAC teams. Yep, SC State deserves the at-large.
Also like LU, ODU destroyed SSU.

I agree. The MEAC is completely undeserving.
The Big South had TWO FBS wins this season, and OOC wins over the MEAC.

I know it's sarcasm, but I wish we'd make the playoffs. Our day will come though. Patience.

Savannah State IS NOT part of the 2010 MEAC Football Conference... This is a FACT!

Re: The Field
Oh, of course.
Don't forget, their team for the past couple years played App well! That's a good enough reason for me!

Savannah State is fucking terrible.
So is Miss Valley State.
Beating either means nothing and there's a reason the MEAC is the worst rated conference in FCS.
