Re: Bracket Challenge
Looks like a couple of people have homered this. Fortunately, it's not a big deal because those teams winning the title are VERY believeable given this field.
FWIW, here's MY bracket (which given THIS field, goes counter to my anti-ECB argument). I seeded the entire thing, assuming that the designated home team has the better seed. That stinks given the play-in game going to App, but there it is.
Opening Round
#20 WIU def. #16 CCU
#13 NDSU def. #17 Robert Morris (Yes, I changed my mind on that one.)
#14 UNI def. #18 Lehigh
#15 GA Southern def. #19 SCSU
First Round
#1 App. St. def #20 WIU
#9 Villanova def. #8 SFA
#5 EWU def. #12 SEMO
#4 MSU def. #13 NDSU
#3 Delaware def. #14 UNI
#11 UNH def. #6 B-C
#7 Jax State def. # 10 Wofford
#2 Bill and Mary def. #15 GA Southern
Quarterfinals
#1 App. St. def. #9 Villanova
#5 EWU def. #4 MSU
#3 Delaware def. # 11 UNH
#2 Bill and Mary def. #7 Jax. State
Semifinals
#1 App. St. def. #5 EWU
#3 Delaware def. #2 Bill and Mary
Finals
#1 App. St. def. #3 Delaware
Champion: #1 Appalachian State

dont rank teams beyond #5 please... cause its not accurate. For instance you have Coastal Carolina #16 and WIU #20 based probably by the fact coastal is at home... I would assume the same in the UNH and B-C game...but in reality WIU and UNH would be ranked higher then their opponents if they seeded the whole field.

SH, nice work! When you don't just take the myopic look you really can do it. There are gonna be a couple of upsets and you didn't stretch too much on those.

Re: Bracket Challenge
I agree with you, UNH. Hence my question in another thread. I prefer seeding the whole thing, but that would have likely SERIOUSLY affected the matchups and perhaps even who made it on the back end.
I would have preferred doing it like the old hoops regional set-up with five seeds in each region, seeds 4 and 5 playing off to play the #1 in that region.

Re: Bracket Challenge
i understand the reason they dont seed it all is to leave the flexability for regionalizing the pairings... but I dont think its worth it... very few matchups end up with bus rides anyway... they should just seed the whole damn thing... teams that finish as the top teams in the nation shouldnt have to face another top team right out of the gate, while two relatively bad teams get to play each other.SuperHornet wrote:I agree with you, UNH. I agree. I was shocked that there is actually some coherent logic in his picks. For the love of God SH, please employ this logical thinking on ALL of your Sac Buzz posts!!!Ursus A. Re: Bracket Challenge
No consensus on a winner so far.
Re: Bracket Challenge
I have an EWU-UD final.
Don't have a ton of upsets. EWU beating App in the semis is the biggest (them beating MSU in the quarters is also an "upset").
I have Wofford upsetting W&M in the quarters. Lookout board, if I'm right and two SoCon teams beat two CAA teams in the quarters...we're doomed.

I read your whole post but thought ha, he made a funny, Liberty's not in the playoffs. Then i thought about it again and realized Montana isn't either. I still can't get over the fact that the Griz aren't in this year.89Hen wrote:Don't feel like signing up, but I have Liberty over Montana in the finals.

Re: Bracket Challenge
An Appy/W&M final with Appy on top.
If I had a darkhorse, it would be Bethune Cookman. They can score points in bunches and in a hurry, and their defense isn't shabby.
I have Coastal beating Western Illnois FWIW, but losing to Appy in round two.
