How is EWU riding UM's coat tails when MONTANA KICKED THE SHT OUTTA ASU LAST YEAR, and EWU KICKED THE SHT OUTTA montana this year?

Of course there's justification, but the only justification other than history and dollars appears to be Delaware's losses being closer.

I would say who you lose to is just as important as by how much. Both team's only losses are to quality opponents. Delaware gets the nod in that category because of EWU's blow out loss. But as I posted earlier Eastern has more quality wins with 5 in the Sagarin top 30 whereas Delaware only has 3. And again, EWU's ooc Nevada, CWU, and SUU is signicantly better than SDSU, Westchester, and Duquesne.

As you've pointed out it's both wins and losses that count.

OK, so how many more reasons other than history, dollars and close losses do you need? Since Sagarin is so important, should we go based upon the fact that he's got UD ranked as the highest FCS team?

I know the controversy and disagreement are the lifeblood of a message board, but everyone still actually has to win football games to be a champion. It all works itself out at the end of the day. JMU won the tourney in '04 with all their games on the road. UD was in the championship in 2007 with the 13th seed and only 1 home game in the playoffs. In short, EWU is a top 5 seed. Take care of yourselves and it will all work out. Your road to the semis is probably as easy as it comes if history is any indicator.

You might want to try reading the entire thread for context before you comment. If you do, you'll find that:

1) I have very little problem with where we're seeded and actually think the bracket works in our favor.

2) Was making the point that even though history and $'s aren't suppose to matter in the seeding process, they clearly do which leads to...

3) Part of the reason Delaware got seeded ahead of EWU while admitting that UD's Sagarin ranking was also a factor. But if you were to put Montana's name behind EWU's resume I bet Delaware would be the 5th seed and we would be the 3.
