Palin doesn't need practice, she can just make stuff up, and then compare herself to Shakespeare.SeattleGriz wrote:Well, knowing Obama, he had been hard at work practicing his speeches to prevent such a poor performance, just like his bowling.BlueHen86 wrote:

You got that wrong. Anyone can have a slip of the tongue (you don't really think Obama thinks there are 57 states do you?). It takes a real certified "intellectual" to make a mistake defend it afterwards and compate themselves to Shakespeare.SeattleGriz wrote:Sarah does go from the hip, or palm, but it takes a real certified intellectual to make words, and states, up when using a teleprompter.BlueHen86 wrote:

I don't care for either Palin or Obama, and I'm not suprised when either of them gaffe. What I find amusing is the knee jerk reaction that some people have; when "their guy" makes a mistake, they excuse it by pointing out that the "other guy" also maked a mistake.
That defense never worked for me when I was a kid, if I got a bad grade or did something wrong, telling my parents that so-and-so made the same mistake never got me off the hook. I don't let my kids get away with it and I bet most people on here don't either. But it's okay when it comes to politicians.

I don't believe Obama thinks there are 57 states anymore than Palin saying that she could see Russia from her yard - which she did not say. Right there, in so many words, you have summed up why I think the right keeps her around. She brings out the perceived intellectual superiority of the left. Every time Palin says something dopey, some kooky Donk makes a comment about how Americans support Palin because many Americans are just dumb.mainejeff wrote:It's easy to see why she is so popular with so many Americans.
Quite frankly, I think Palin is going to earn a LOT of votes for the real Republican candidate come 2012, if for nothing else than that reason alone. Rest assured she will NEVER be the nominee, so keep on wasting breath insulting common Americans and see what happens in 2 years.
She might be a goofball, but her conservative beliefs do dovetail with a lot of other, more savvy conservatives.

Yes but she absolutely mirrors the overwhelming evidence: Americans are pretty stupid...
and we're busily raising the stupidest children
and already have the stupidest young adults
and I know it hurts all those Republicans feelings when Americans are called what they are...
Somehow being PC only applies to "everybody else"
We can't look at ourselves and be honest
Sarah Palin is stupid -and - that makes her a perfect candidate
In this country we're not interested in holding ourselves to a higher standard
We're only interested that everybody else does

The intellectual elite miss a lot of great friendships with people they judge to be inferior. Palin isn't the best person to run this country, but I'm not very impressed with the Ivy League Educations of Bush, Kerry or Gore either.CID1990 wrote:I'm not stupid.

Well, we really shouldn't get on a person for making a mistake. We all say the wrong things at some time or another.
BUT, I seriously think Palin is extremely misguided, delusional and overall toxic for our country.
