I didn't realize App State was in the CAA the last two years.

Seeded JMU getting Wofford in '08 and Seeded Richmond getting Elon last year wasn't exactly doing them favors.

Let's face it, everyone wants the MEAC teams in the opener.

Jaybo was the "walking wounded" when he beat us....how's his health and can he take you guys to the promised land?

The OVC hasn't won yet and Bethune has yet to play. Plus, if NDSU doesn't turn their game with Robert Morris around, the MVFC will easily get the moniker as worst playoff conference this year.

There were no elite teams this year in the Valley. There were simply three or four above average teams, and the 2-1 record today shows that.

I realize App got SC State the last two years, hence my statement of, "usually the level of team the CAA gets".

Well, I'm looking at it this way. Jaybo's health problems have been physical. Looks like this injury was a helmet shot to the chin. Since he didn't play much, his body will have a chance to rest. I just hope he gets cleared to play.

If he doesn't, I'm scared it will be a long day next Saturday.

The point is that the whole premise of your statment "usually the level of team the CAA gets" in the first round... is false. The fact is that the CAA has played the SoCon .. which has been either the #1 or #2 league in the FCS over the past ten years.. almost twice as often (9-5) as they have gotten a MEAC opponent. They have also played a MVC school more often (6-5) than a MEAC. Even the Patriot League .. which the CAA has faced ten times in the first round has won 7 playoff games since 2000. By comparison the Big Sky.. minus Montana.. has won only 4 playoff games over that same period and remember the Pat League has won those 7 games despite having to play the CAA and SoCon most often in the first round. I know people love to take shots at the big guy (the CAA) ;) .. but alluding to easy first round opponents as the reason for their success just isn't factual.

Until Montana moves to the BCS, you cannot have a Big Sky without the Grizz, any more than you can have a CAA without Delaware or a SOCON without App State. SOCON is indeed a premier league, but has not been #1 or #2 for the past ten years and for much of the past decade has had to to contend with the BSC and MVFC for second place. Just the facts.

You conclusion is correct, though. CAA plays its fair share of tough first round opponents. Just the facts.

Not true.. since 2000 (including this year) here's a list of the leagues and the number of times played by the CAA in the 1st round..

MEAC - 5
SoCon - 9
OV - 1
Patriot - 10
MVC - 6
Southland - 3
Big Sky - 2

that's a total of 36 games and only 5 played vs the MEAC and don't try to sell the Patriot short.. acoording to today's UNI broadcast.. the Pat is now 3-0 vs the MVC.
How ironic that a Big Sky poster opened this can of worms.
Maybe everyone should complain about how easy the Big Sky has it, since they have only opened with the CAA twice since 2000.

Apparently you missed the post in this thread in which I stated that I was bitter and drunk. It came right after I was wondering how SC State beat an SEC team and looked so poor against GSU. Once again, bitter and drunk.
