Elon because they talk a bunch of sh!t & never back it up. Elon's the biggest "done nothing" program in our conference but you wouldn't know it by listening to their fans....& they play dirty as YT alluded to earlier....
Never seen Elon play but have heard from different directions that they play dirty. Aren't they a religious school?

We used to play them every year when I was there. Dirtiest team I've every played against. They punched choked pinched twisted, they did it all. And then after the game instead of shaking hands they handed out Jesus pamphlets. :ohno:

"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Yes. Baptist I believe, but don't hold me to it. They're former moniker was the "Fightin' Christians" (seriously). But I think they had to give that up due to potential naming rights lawsuit being threatened by the Southern Baptist Convention (not serious ;) ).

In all fairness, I throw out the "dirty play" card just ot get a rise out of Elon fans. I didn't watch the Elon game in Boone 3 yrs ago where apparantly this started, so I can't comment. The play last year that continued the "dirty play" theme was one of their guys hitting Armanti on the knee after a pass. Personally, I didn't think that was an intentional dirty play as the culprit was rushing hard trying to get through a blocker, lost his footing & went in a little low & out of control, but he seemed to fall into Armanti's knee more than "hit" his knee. But, due to the previous year, perception is reality in the eyes of alot of App fans. This past year, I was pretty toasted at the game & don't recall alot of dirty play except for the late hit on Pressley. From my vantage point, Pressley was down & the Elon player came in low for an unnecessary hit that he could have pulled up to avoid. But, it was still between the whistles, Pressley was going for a 1st down to seal the victory, Elon was within a TD of winning & you had to like their QB's chances if they got the ball back. In other words, it was a late hit, but not flagrantly late or provocative.

However, I still do think Elon is all talk & until they beat us, will continue to think that....& their premature SoCon champion banner didn't help this perception.

Elon fans can sometimes be a little annoying at times and unfortunately their team hasn't been able to back up their talk. When I was at App, WCU was a target of scorn as they actually fielded a football team and in later years SoCon years Marshall fans were often jackwagons.

All FCS schools have to fight for respect as most FBS schools look down at them. That's why I will actually pull for the JMU or Liberty or even Elon upset of any FBS.

Now living in ATL I've got to admit that UGA Bulldawg fans are the most arrogant, ignorant and redneck fans on the planet; very easy to hate and the majority of their fans have never seen the inside of a college classroom. Classy!

Plus the majority of their fans couldn't find Athens, GA on a map.

I don't think we're affiliated with a religious group anymore. I agree with you about the hit on Pressley. From what I saw, it was borderline, and it could've been just playing hard or it could've been a bit late. I can't talk about the AE hit, because I wasn't there. IMO we have no right to talk until we beat ASU and/or win the SoCon (hopefully soon but i doubt it). Also I hope I'm not an annoying Elon fan. I try to be as unbiased as I can, and show respect where it is due.

If we're talking FBS, the UW fans can be about as arrogant as they come (looking forward to the smack before we play them next year).

And I do find myself hating on any team coached by Steve Spurrier or Les Miles.

Around here the U of M fans are not as arrogant as they once were. :thumb:

No, you're not...and when I'm being the obnoxious App fan, it's usually for show....I like to think I'm fair-minded & willing to admit our program's shortcomings without the blinders....

For me i dont really have any beef with any fans or teams from the FCS ranks. However i hate BYU fans. So sick of their egotistical, overconfident, smug, ignorant, downright stupid fanbase. I dont have a problem with the team at all but i am really fed up with BYU fans like that...alot of Notre Dame fans tick me off to. :thumb:

I know BF's just trying to be funny, but I've never seen a single dirty Griz player. I don't get the inbred fans comment, either. Griz fans who show up to games in Sac are generally among the nicest people on the face of the Earth.

I'm really starting to not like NDSU fans.

Other than that, all kidding aside about SHSU, my hate has to go out to the whorns here in Austin. Talk about sense of entitlement and elitism. Gads. It oozes from everywhere around here and, seriously, folks are fans because they were born here. Like it's a God given right and no other U exists....in the world. And if you aren't wearing that hideous orange you're worse than scum.

I'm not a fan of the "H" word.

Other posters have clearly pointed out why they don't like it's usage. Their evaluations are spot on, and pretty much mirror my thoughts.

Seeing as how my first response to this thread was food related, I plan on keeping that theme up.

About the only time I'll use the word "hate" is when it deals with the two below pictured items. When I see either one of them, no matter where it is, I just can't seem to voice my displeasure fast or loud enough...to ANYONE that will listen!

Back on track...there isn't a single fan base/football program in the FCS that I don't like!

Being fortunate enough to attend all Griz home games, I make it a point to talk to/with opposing fans/coaching staff and players. Been doin' this quite a few years and I've yet to meet anyone from another team,(no matter their affiliation or "standing" with the team), that was as humble in defeat as they were gracious in a win...

A few teams come to mind...McNeese, MSU, Delaware, Georgia Southern, and ASU. Proud programs all, with a terrific fan base!

My man, JBB is the tip of the iceberg. Some of these fucks are unbelievable as Gil points out one of about 15-20 that make you laugh your ass off at the overinflated self worth of Bison football in the division.

So NDSU finally moved up to FCS? Thought they must have still been in D2 since I haven't seen them in the playoffs previously......
