Again, what does 10 wins REALLY mean in a conference where THREE teams can get 11 wins and they don't all play each other?SuperHornet wrote:AZ: I would agree with you about Michigan, but not so much with Penn State. And as noted earlier in this thread, they DID beat perennial SEC front-runner LSU in a New Year's bowl game. They are also bowl eligible this year. (Though, admittedly, that's not such a big deal this year.) There seems to be no guarantee that the "downness" (to coin a word) will continue next year. JoePa is too good a coach to stay away from 10 wins for too long.

You seem to forget Michigan is at 7 wins with a defense that is ranked 109th in the nation.SuperHornet wrote:AZ: I would agree with you about Michigan, but not so much with Penn State. If Michigan didn't have to score about 50 points per game to win they would easily be at 10 wins. They have the 6th best offense in the nation - statistically. They put up 34ppg but give up 34ppg.
So, Willie has somewhat of a point with Michigan. To stop Michigan is a heck of a feat. To beat Michigan by outscoring them...not that hard to do with that defense.

UConn
Notre Dame
UMass
Bowling Green
Indiana (1-7 in conference)
Illinois (4-4 in conference)
Purdue (2-6 in conference)
Their five losses?
Ohio State
Michigan State
Iowa
Penn State
Wisconsin
So, essentially if your football team has a PULSE, it can beat Michigan. Yep....a REAL juggernaut.

Like I said before, if your team is worth a damn they'll beat Michigan.AZGrizFan wrote:And their seven wins?clenz wrote: You seem to forget Michigan is at 7 wins with a defense that is ranked 109th in the nation.

It doesn't matter how good or bad Michigan is in a given year. It's a damn tough game every year. You should know that from Cat/Griz.

Yeah, but that doesn't make OSU world beaters. IF they get matched up against Arkansas, I'll take the SEC team by minimum of 10.Willie wrote:It doesn't matter how good or bad Michigan is in a given year. It's a damn tough game every year. You should know that from Cat/Griz.

And that's your opinion. Mine is the exact opposite. We were supposed to get crushed by Oregon last year also.
