Serious question Has EWU ever won a National Championship? or been in the title game? I remember ya losing in first round I think to McNeese a few years ago..is that correct? Hell maybe it was last year for all I can remember.

WTF? He was making a joke that when it happens to MSU it's a piss pounding, when it happens to your team it is a close loss.

That is a move pulled directly from the pages of Bison lore so it is particularly funny in it's use here.

And in spite of the fact that they've done much more than the Bison in this division, they talk less (except BF) and don't have an inflated opinion of their program.

I think they have some D2 National Championships but I don't know for sure because they realize that it doesn't mean shit to what we're talking about now. I do however know that NDSU won a few.

Yes. But it isn't rampant across the Bison faithful. Kudos for your clear vision on the matter though.

Did I ever say that EWU is all high and mighty, and that we've done outstanding things at this level? No, I didn't. Yes, EWU has won two national championships, but not in football. Wrestling in 1977 (NAIA), and Men's Cross-Country in 1982 (D-II).

And again, no, you are not correct. EWU beat #2 McNeese State 44-15 in the first round a few years ago in 2007. Good job on that.

McNeese was '07, and we won that game 44-15. You're probably thinking of last year's loss to SFA.

No, no national championships in this Division. It has been a while (1997) since we made a deep run into the playoffs, but we have at least made the playoffs 5 of the past 7 years, which is a hell of a lot more than NDSU has done. You guys go 7-4 with a couple of really bad losses, and everyone's supposed to be wowed by that?

Talk about an unfounded arrogance.

Truth be told, you guys are fairly lucky to even be in the playoffs. :coffee:

Just looked it up, no DII championships. several DI conference championships.
5 BSC championships including this year (1 outright BSC championship) since 1987

Damn I can't wait for Saturday!
Yes I found his reply about only getting beat my MSU 30-7 laughable. Hey if that's what he wants to hang his hat on fine. I just find every post of his that has anything to do with NDSU to be a waste of time. His bouncing titties avatar is about the only thing I enjoy in his posts  Lastly I don't care how good or bad EWU is that FVCKING UGLY bleeding red field they play on looks like SHAT.
Virtually any post from a Bison fan talking about their program is a waste of time and laughable. The majority of your fans believe the BISON ( ) are this rich, storied program that everyone looks up to and tries to emulate, when in reality, it isn't, and they don't. It's that arrogance that strikes a cord with people (me in this case), not TheHerd's pointing out that we lost 30-7 to the team they're about to play.

MSU is a bone to be chewed by the mighty Bufflers, heck the last time MSU took on a bunch of wooly Buffs they came away from Boulder, Co with an impressive win on a Big 12 power, now that the N. Dakota Bufflers are coming to their place with nothing to show for but some ancient D-II titles, they ain't even taking this game seriously.

Read the Billings sport pages this morning, Cats already ramping up for the big rematch with EWU.

Cats 31

Bufflers 17

So if MSU wins by a blow out on Saturday, what are the chances all these Bison faithful will be around the next day?

Even if we lose to SEMO, I'll still be around.

I voted MSU #1 in my poll the last 3 weeks of the regular season, so I'll be pulling for them to win the Championship if they beat NDSU. :thumb:

We'll me, gil, twintown and bisonbacker have been here the whole time so I don't think you'll be rid of us that easily. If we can survive through last season I think we can handle just about anything.

BTW just like Gil, I voted MSU #1 and I also voted EWU #4.

I think most NDSU fans will be around. You might not here from them for a couple weeks/months though. IF we lose, I for one probably won't be online for a month or so. IF we lose, the lose will speak for itself and life goes on.

We haven't been blown out in a long time. Even in our losses this year, we were in the game going into the last possesion. I don't see us being blown out by MSU. MSU has a good squad, but its not like they were beating the snot out of teams this year (not counting d2 and non schollie). 2 overtime wins, and one of the losses was by almost the total of all of NDSU's losses combined.

The problem with FCS is that teams need to play more games against other FCS conferences. I know NDSU has the Montana schools for a home and home in a couple years. An example is Georgia Southern buying out of the NDSU contract for a guanteed win against Presbertyrian (sp?). I understand it's done for financial reasons, but the larger schools should be better than that. It would be cool if each year the MVFC and Big SKy had 1 non-conference game against each other. The MVFC/Big Sky challenge. Its probably a dream, but it would help see how the conference's stack up against each other.

BISON fans aren't going nowhere so dont worry about us baby, we'll be right here at home, oh baby, oh baby, we got a good thing going.

I was run over by angry NDSU fans last year when I wouldn't join the pity party and condemn the BISON for being terrible. I was the only fan that saw the forces preventing that team from being more successful and I was one of the few if not the only one that saw and predicted last summer this teams rise, much to the amusement of some of you knowledgable and respected fans.

I know first hand what the NDSU Football Conglomerates long term goals are. I dont know the timing but this summer sure was a good time to speculate on the future of the program. Inventorying all the positives that would make such a move possible was time well spent. It was hard to be heard above the babble however.

NDSU is a decided underdog. The MSU QB Demitrius MgHee (sp?) is the best player in the league. NDSU has to contain him to win. Think Ed Thompson from UNO many years ago. The MSU team does not present an overwhelming threat to the BISON outside of the QB. They are an average team with a great QB. Hands down the best player on the team and probably the best in the league. If the BISON defense doesnt have an answer the stats are going to look good for the Cats and not so good for the BISON.

NDSU will try and control the flow of the game. Put pressure to move the QB where we want him. RMUs Sinclair is a similar QB. Good runner, accurate passer with knowledge of the game. He had early success running especially to the outside but the Coaching Staff learned and adjusted. He was contained for most of the game. It was good practice for Saturday.

It would be nice to see more FCS vs FCS games. But as far as seeing how the conference stack up against one another, well, that's what the playoffs are for. :thumb:

Best QB in the league maybe. Best player? Very debatable.

Debatable? He's a great player but I don't think it's debatable even. TJ is and the story ends there. Much like it probably will in a couple of years when Mghee is mentioned.

Yeah, I think best player is a bit of a stretch. Certainly, he had a great year, especially for a Freshman. I have to laugh a little bit about the claim that he's basically MSU's entire team, though - they have depth on both sides of the ball.

DM could be the best QB in the BSC this year, although I also think Herrick and Higgins are both good QB's that suffered a little bit this year from not having a solid supporting cast. Hell, even BLM really upped his game the second half of the season and should probably get some consideration.

As far as best player - I think there are some damn fine players on both sides of the ball. Hard to pick out any one player. I do think TJ was the best back this year, and could be next year as well as long as he stays healthy. That's the key. He is slightly injury prone.

Facebook? Are they the official Montana State University Ticket Office?

I wouldnt get my hopes up about the win if I were you. I would wait until at least half time before you begin boasting! :twocents:

I do think the MSU team is a mediocre squad with a great QB. A great team with a great QB would certainly have a larger margin of victory. There is nothing to indicate anything except an average squad outside of the QB. I think the quantitative analysis presented earlier in this thread speaks for itself. :ugeek:
