The 'cats defense gotta be licking their chops given that the bison scored a grand total of two offensive TDs against the top 5 teams on their schedule. Otoh, 2-3 over that stretch isn't bad for such a pitiful offensive showing.
Hey Dawg you seem to be really PO'd with NDSU and its fans. You also like to take shots at the team. Just curious do you remember who won the game this year between NDSU and SIU??????? :coffee:

MSU - 38
NDSU - 10

Hope I'm wrong, though. If EWU can beat SEMO, as much as I'd like to see a rematch with MSU, I think I'd rather have another home playoff game.

Quick analysis:

NDSU defense played at a very high level

NDSU offense stepped it up. This is the most encouraging aspect of this emerging team. The offense had to step it up. The BISON offense found a flaw in the MSU game plan on the outside. They exploited that.

The "Big Play" seemed to be hovering around the NDSU offense. They were just a step away so many times. Finally it broke open.

Individual effort:

DJ McNorton. Player of the game.

Most improved: NDSU Offensive Line

Outstanding defense effort. How many sacks? 5, 6?

Turnover margin in favor of the NDSU BISON.

Tremendous football game. Right up there with the best Ive ever seen. Big game huge win.

Everyone has to pull back now. Back to Fargo and all other points. The center of the FCS world could be in Fargo next week. There is still hope for a home game for the Herd. Its going to be a short week.

Im on

for the SEMO game

you can scroll down for the game. I think the second half kickoff is coming up.

Maybe the NEC's first playoff appearance wasn't as bad as I originally thought?

Even RMU was better in the trenches than the Bobcats were today. This game followed a nearly identical script, though.

Remember Dacotah Field? This game was a throwback to some classic game planning by the NDSU coaches. They spent a lot of time reviewing data from the old D2 dynasty days and played pounding, physical football all day:
We knew it was going to be a physical game … Montana boys and Dakota boys are tough kids,” said Montana State offensive lineman Mike Person. “We are a little beat up right now.”
DJ McNorton busts out for 207 yds.

The BISON threw 1 pass in the second half.

NDSU scored 28 pts in the 4th qtr.

The NDSU defense was stifling:
The Bobcats entered the game averaging 510 total yards and 40 points in their six wins at home this season. They left Bobcat Stadium on Saturday with only 380 total yards and their lowest scoring output of the season.
NDSU did that to high flying offenses all season. Ask SIU.

The Bobcats ended up turning the ball over four times against a Bison defense that now has 32 takeaways this season.
The defense also silenced quarterback Denarius McGhee, the redshirt freshman from the Dallas area who was the co-offensive player of the year in the Big Sky Conference. McGhee entered Saturday’s game averaging 267 yards passing with a 63 percent completion percentage.
McGhee dislocated his shoulder.

The Bobcats are a speed team that was used to playing finesse football meeting a very fast, physical team with size and strength that loves to pound. The BISON are a team that pounded a Big 12 Charter Member for 60 minutes and gave up 1 field goal you know.

Coach Ash likes to recruit speed. Its his main focus, but Saturday he may have changed his mind
“We are undersized,” Ash said. “To a certain extent, the line of scrimmages on both sides of the ball was the difference today. They were very tough up front in both lines. That’s an area where we may have to analyze and look at improving for next year.”
“They were some big boys,” Ogden said. “They did a good job of walling you out. It’s hard to do anything when you get walled out on your gaps.”
It was a physical BISON Football team that came into Bozeman underdogs and left under the Flag of the NDSU BISON!! It was flying high in the mountain air.
The NDSU Football Conglomerate wishes to extend a warm greeting to Eastern Washington University, the Eagles and their fans!
Remember Dacotah Field!!! GO BISON!!!!!

Bison fans might get the game attendance over 5000 this weekend at Eastern Washington. They had 3665 for the SEMO game.
