SFA that was handing Nova's ass to them? You're on probation.
And you're implying that they weren't? Wasn't it 21-7 at one point? SFA just decided to play one more quarter of football than they did LAST year....

Yes, after Nova fumbled the KO after SFA went up 14-7. It was quickly apparent that SFA plays defense like they were a Big Sky team, so Nova was not out of it by any stretch of the imagination. If you were only following the score and not watching the game, I could see how you would have come to a different conclusion though. ;)

I feel that App, Delaware and Villanova are all up there as the best but honestly I think any of the 8 teams could win a national title. At this point in the playoffs everyone is good... very very good.

Yes, I do realize some of the head to head results don't make all the pegs fit nicely, but this is an opinion thread.
I agree with this one.

and Delaware the week before
and they are the defending champs
and they are getting healthy at the right time
They lost to UNH the week before that ... at home .. (no Matty S, obviously, but I think they're overrated after an OT win and a win at a bad SFA team.)

---

Am I a homer? Probably. I think Appalachian State is the most talented, best team in FCS, and Georgia Southern is playing the best right now. After that, I think there's a drop and a bunch of teams pretty close. I think Delaware is personally being overrated. Devlin's numbers are fantastic, but here's who they beat this season: West Chester, SDSU, Duquesne, @ UR, @ JMU, Maine, URI, Towson, UMass, Lehigh. They haven't beaten a single team of UNH's caliber this season, and lost to the only two on UNH's level (granted by 4 points). I'm not saying they won't win, but UNH's win at Nova is better than anything UD has. In fact, I don't think anyone in the country has the quality of wins that UNH has (they're being held back by a bad loss to Maine and a "perceived" bad loss to URI).

Villanova has the same loss to URI, was beaten by UNH (soundly at times) and barely eeked into the playoffs, with a signature win over a team that frankly doesn't have any of their own. I think all three CAA teams are pretty similar, with UNH having the most quality wins of the three. Not to mention, UNH is 6-1 in their last seven with wins over 'Nova, BCU, JMU, Richmond and Massachusetts. I think they're currently playing the best of the 3 CAA teams.

I question the overall quality of wins that the three teams below the three CAA have, though I'll grant NDSU is hot right now.

I guess we'll find out if UNH is really better than Delaware in about 48 hours.

Before you denigrate Delaware's wins, you have to look at the number of teams we pinned the first or second 'L' on. Many of those teams were very highly ranked at the time, and we sent their season into a tailspin after they got their reality check.

1. Appalachian State & Delaware *We'll let them duke it out in Frisco*

3. Eastern Washington - The rug is green and the travel far. App wins at home.
4. Georgia Southern - UD run D has done the job all season. GSU can't catch up at Newark.

5. North Dakota State - Bison D can't overcome one dimensional O.
6. New Hampshire - The good kitty (UMass-Nova wins) or the bad kitty (URI-Maine loss) show up? Inconsistency shows.
7. Villanova - NC quality game. Strong Nova effort comes up short.
8. Wofford - Classic rematch. Previous loser wins.

On December 12, 1775 the Continental Congress created a Battalion of minuteman from the three counties in Delaware. Kent county militia were fans and owners of Game Cocks; Fight'n Blue Hens as they were called. The Fight'n Blue Hens became known far and wide as the very best Fighting Game Cocks around. Thus, the Blue Hen was established.

Look for the Griz Offense to be like Oregon's, but it's still another year a way from being unstoppable. A RB named Jordan Canada will be like Lamicheal James. You heard it here first. Next year we will make the playoffs but probably at 8-3 and not contend for a title. 2012 undefeated National Champs (including a win at Boone in the regular season, a game i just might have to go to. I dig the App fans they are not a bunch of ass clowns like most of the CAA-DICKS).

On the flipside if we don' t make the playoffs next year then Phlu might need to start managing his daughters modeling career, because his coaching career will be over.

Meh. The Big Sky's reputation is now being based on the teams that were good enough to make the playoffs. It's too bad our win over the Griz wasn't considered quality. Probably cost us a higher seed.

Yeah, there are at least three other remaining teams I'd rather face than UNH tonight if given the choice.
