Re: 2009 Schedules
Dont get me wrong SUUTBIRD, I would love to see the Weber - SUU Rivalry re-installed into every year, When I was playing Football at Clearfield High School, we actually had football camp at SUU, and I actually went to the last Weber State SUU game that was played in Cedar City. I was unaware that SUU hired a new coach, and like SUU's old coach, Eteuati is gone as well.
I really dont understand why Weber State would prefer ( other than Money ) to play bigger schools, it could be the Mcbride connection with the Mountain West and Wac schools, I do have hope though that maybe Weber can pull off the upset and maybe go into Laramie and beat Wyoming. I personaly wish Weber would stop scheduling FBS schools and Schedule only FCS schools because they are the teams Weber would play if they made the tourny.
This would be a good schedule for Weber
@ SUU
Cal Poly
NDSU
@UNI

Re: 2009 Schedules
Wow i hate to say it guys but i think SUU has a harder schedule then you do. Western State? I would at least think you guys would play at least a higher caliber D2 school. AS far as i know this is what SUU has got scheduled not in this order, couldnt find the dates:AZGrizFan wrote:I just got this off of eGriz.
The 2009 schedule is as follows:
9/5 - Western State of Colorado
9/12 - @ UC-Davis
9/19 - Portland State
9/26 - @ Northern Arizona
10/3 - bye
10/10 - Cal Poly (Homecoming)
10/17 - Eastern Washington
10/24 - @ Sac State
10/31 - Weber State
11/7 - @ Idaho State
11/14 - Northern Colorado
11/21 - @ Montana State
A few things jump out: We stand a very good chance of LOSING our homecoming game. We HAVE to replace the Western State game.. .that is just horrible. We have to make TWO trips to Sacramento in the same year!!!
T-Man, you just might see me there this year!

Im guessing we will at least fill two more slots probably one with a D2 school and possibly another Big Sky opponent. Hopefully it will be Weber or is there schedule full?

Not always, I think we will be winning more then losing next year. And supposedly you guys will actually be coming down here for a change in 2010. Or will you guys again be afraid to be leave home?

You know what's funny about this, is that if SUU and Weber packed their stadiums with 25,000 rabid fans every weekend, YOU'D never leave home either! You wouldn't HAVE to! Griz envy noted, fellas.

Not envious at all, I wouldnt be too happy if my football team made their living at home, and in the playoffs, before they stole a home game against Weber, Montana's record in the playoffs was 25-15, guess how many of those wins were at home, 23

D-2 out of the RMAC. They have been cellar dwellers for the past three or so years, should be about 50 points behind by half time. This game blows, and I'm sure UM has something else cooking for this date, if not, no glory will be gained by beating the hell out of this hapless team.AshevilleApp wrote:I didn't know "Wasted State" had a football team. Re: 2009 Schedules
Alright our official schedule is now out:
2009 SUU SCHEDULE:
-Sept. 12: @San Diego State
-Sept. 19 : @Northern Arizona
-Sept. 26 : @Utah State
-0ct. 03: Texas State
-Oct. 17: @Cal Poly
-Oct. 24: North Dakota
-Oct. 31: UC Davis
-Nov. 07: @South Dakota
-Nov 14: Eastern Washington
-Nov 21: @San Diego
A very tough slate for the thunderbirds especially considering they play 2 FBS opponents, 6 out of the 10 games on the road, 2 Big Sky opponents and have three straight weeks away to open the season. Im hoping with Ed Lamb already guiding the program in the right direction that we can get a winning season out of this.

Re: 2009 Schedules
Here's another fun fact about Weber:
Q: How many 10-win seasons does Weber have since 1962?
A: TWO. That's it. TWO.
And somehow, some way, your shit suddenly doesn't stink.
They have NEVER had a 9 win season.
Only THREE 8 win seasons.
That's a grand total of FIVE seasons with more than 7 wins.
So, while wildcat ryan may not be too happy with his team if it "lived at home, and in the playoffs", you ought to worry about actually MAKING the playoffs on a regular basis.

if they do as well as they did last year they will be able to tie our 25 playoff wins by 2032. That's nothingto sneeze at AZ!AZGrizFan wrote:Here's another fun fact about Weber:

I also love it when people act like little bitches about home playoff wins. You have to win and secondarily have good fan support to have home games. Weber's football team did their part but the school wasn't willing to pony up the money for the home game. Why? They couldn't count on the fans to cover the tab and that is somehow a detraction on the Montana program? BTW Wildcat Ryan I'm not sure if you dubasses in Ogden understand this since you don't support you team enough to have home games but it is really quite fun to go to the games and it is easier when they are home to do that. Good luck to your proud group of "road warriors" if that's what you're hanging your hat on these days.

Re: 2009 Schedules
Then tell me, How is it that Weber gets so screwed that even though they beat montana the first time, so they get the tiebreaker over UM, and Weber gets the Conferences automatic bid to the playoffs, but instead of getting the fourth seed and playing at home like they deserved, they had to play at a team who's conference doesnt even get an automatic bid to the playoffs, then play at a team who they had already beaten earlier that year?
Weber losing to EWU took a big sigh of relieve out of the NCAA, cause they were going to screw Weber and give the home games to Montana anyway, and since Weber lost to EWU their was no controversy like their would have been if Weber had won, and they had givin the the Home games to Montana

Re: 2009 Schedules
You need to learn a little there son. Weber didn't deserve a top 4 seed period, that's a fact. Since they didn't get it should the NCAA change the rules that everybody has been abiding by for the last 15 yrs. to suit you guys because once you get in now you have a bitch because you don't have the fan support? All you had to do to have a home game was outbid Cal Poly and you didn't do it. I can't believe you're being such a little bitch about this after the fact. You'll learn the rules as you go I guess since you don't seem to have a good handle things yet.Wildcat Ryan wrote:Then tell me, How is it that Weber gets so screwed that even though they beat montana the first time, so they get the tiebreaker over UM, and Weber gets the Conferences automatic bid to the playoffs, but instead of getting the fourth seed and playing at home like they deserved, they had to play at a team who's conference doesnt even get an automatic bid to the playoffs, then play at a team who they had already beaten earlier that year?
