If I remember correctly, UNI traveled pretty damn well the last time they came to TX
Re: Playoff teams proximity to Chatty and Frisco
You guys are spoilt. You should see where the teams had to go for the Championship Game in the early days of the FCS/Div I-AA. Places like Wichita Falls, TX, Orlando, FL, Sacromento, Cal, Tacoma, Wash, and Pocatello, Idaho.

I am great with Frisco. The flight is cheaper.

Out of all the teams left in the playoffs... Wofford is the closest.

I'm glad the NCAA isn't in the logistics business - if they believe that Frisco is the most central point to where the majority of FCS teams are then we're in trouble. Hell, Indianapolis would be a better option than this.

It's 75 degrees in Austin today. 66 @ Pizza Hut Park right now. What is it in Chatty? 44?

There is a 3 degree difference between Chattanooga and Frisco in January. There is a difference of hundreds upon hundreds of miles between Chattanooga and Frisco for every single team left in the playoffs.

Oh good some more crying about it not being in your backyard anymore.
Having to get on a plane will give you fucking whiny bitches a little more respect for MT fans have always had to do...and did in impressive #'s.
If your fans won't travel because they have to fly then they're a bunch of punk ass bitches.

It's embarrassing to see a half empty stadium for the FCS national championship game. The more people that have to fly, the less fans will be there. The more fans in driving distance... the more fans will be there. It's pretty simple, really.

My apologies, I didn't realize that the game had already happened and you knew the attendance.Skjellyfetti wrote:I don't even know if my team will be there.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Oh good some more crying about it not being in your backyard anymore.

Perhaps you didn't see footage of Villanova's side last year? Because "half" would be being VERY generous.Skjellyfetti wrote:I don't even know if my team will be there.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Oh good some more crying about it not being in your backyard anymore.

January 7, 2010
Chattanooga, TN - high 37
Frisco, TX - high 49
Now don't take this as gospel but I think that's more than 3 degrees.

NDSU's 2 road games have been more than 800 miles each. North Dakota snowbirds usually head to Florida, Texas and Arizona for winter, so I expect more NDSU fans if they happen to make the finals than there would have been in Tennessee.

Attendance for the NC game in Frisco is more than likely going to be terrible, regardless of the two teams who make it there.

Again. You might want to look at more than one date. The temperature today in Austin doesn't mean anything. The temperature last year on the date doesn't anythng. Look up the AVERAGE January temperatures for Frisco, TX and Chattanooga, TN... accumulated from many years of data. If you can find the averages for January 7th for Frisco and Chattanooga it would be even better.

Yeah, it'll probably be somewhere around Chattanooga #'s so I have to agree with you.AppStateAlumQC wrote:Attendance for the NC game in Frisco is more than likely going to be terrible, regardless of the two teams who make it there.
I guess the NCAA must have been swayed by the money so they could keep putting the FCS Championship on it's current form. That is, I would assume why they have the bid process.
How many of you guys that are close to Chatty went to games there when your team wasn't involved? That might have been a good way to make sure that it stayed there with the buying of tickets, a full stadium, etc.
There were tickets available every year except 2007 right? I know some Griz fans that made several trips down there even when the Griz weren't in the game. Did any of the whiners make those same types of shows of support?

I went in 2008. Bought tickets, but didn't go last year. Sent them to the Chattanooga Boys and Girls Club.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote: Yeah, it'll probably be somewhere around Chattanooga #'s so I have to agree with you.

True, I said that same thing on another thread. I was never in Chatty when you had to wear more than a sweatshirt so the weather argument is one without teeth. If you can't handle 40 degree weather then fuck you and stay the hell home.Gil Dobie wrote:Either place is t-shirt weather for anyone north of Iowa.Skjellyfetti wrote: Not just "oh, btw guys!!! it's really warm in Austin today!!! It got up to 35..ish...in Cedar Falls today and I was walking around in a t-shirt and was warm.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:True, I said that same thing on another thread. I'd love for 40 degree weather in January.

At least you gave an effort sk so I can give you some props for that.
But you know damn well you were in a major minority of those bitching about it not putting their money where their cock hangar is.

Got off the plane in 2008 in Chatty and it was close to 70 after leaving Missoula where it was near zero to -10. I was inappropriately dressed with a sweatshirt on that time.clenz wrote:It got up to 35..ish...in Cedar Falls today and I was walking around in a t-shirt and was warm.Ursus A. Re: Playoff teams proximity to Chatty and Frisco
TBH has family in the Louisville area. We were there over Christmas a couple years ago and it was something like 45-50 degrees down there. All the locals had winter coats on, stocking hats, and complained of the cold. We were walking around in t-shirts and gym shorts. I checked at one point and it was 53 in Louisville and at the same time in CF it was -38 after the wind chill was factored in. It was funny to watch them bitch about the weather they had.Ursus A.
