Where above, exactly, are you saying that? Your highlighted statement doesn't say one thing about playing tough defenses, just that our defense was paper-tissue thin. We beat 2 out fo three teams listed above (handily) & lost to the 3rd in overtime at their stadium by giving up a whopping 14 pts in regulation on the way to our 6th SoCon title. I wouldn't quit your day job to become a fulltime soothsayer or astrologer anytime soon....AssKickinChicken wrote:Villanova was by far the better team. ASU hit Nova for two big plays totaling 120 yrds early on before the Nova defense settled in. Once VU's defense became acclimated ASU was done. ASU's defense was no match for the Nova power running game (285 yrds) while the ASU running game was completely shut down. ASU had 100 rushing yrds but half of that came on one play in their first series, after that their running game was pretty much non existent. I took a lot of heat when I predicted early on;
but it seems I was correct, as ASU met two teams who played really tough defense, GSU & Villanova and lost to both.by AssKickinChicken » Sun Oct 10, 2010 8:55 am
ASU has played two decent opponents (UTC & Elon) and given up 500 yrds of offense to both.
ASU may be currently unbeaten and ranked #1, but they can forget Frisco and maybe even the SoCon title unless that tissue thin defense improves a whole lot before the Furman, GSU, Wofford run

Their O and D lines pushed us around all day and their defense appeared to have Presley confused much of the time. Nova covered our receivers better than any team I've seen this year and Szcur is the best player I've seen in FCS this year. Also there was no yapping or chest thumping by the Nova players, just kicked butt and went to the sidelines. Talked to many of their fans and they were a class act as well.![]()
Another great year by the App players....just wasn't enough against Nova this year.

I don't know - if he really talked to 4 of them then he should've used the word "most". I say he talked to 3 of them so he can go with "many" or simply "half" - his choice.AZGrizFan wrote:Read: four.SpeedkingATL wrote:I was at the game and came away very impressed by Nova in all phases. I was saying that DEFENSE wins champioships and good defense usually will win out over good offense. ASU's offense was very good, averaging over 35 points a game, but in their loses to GSU and Nova that great offense averaged just 17 a game, wonder why? The point was that ASU defense wasn't good enough and I predicted that when they finally did meet a good opponent who played very tough defense that they would be in big trouble. And that is exactly what happened.
